I remember when our warehouse was on East Desert Inn on the east side of Las Vegas a few years ago. I was riding a Benelli Andretti at the time and always parked it underneath the tree that was right in front of my office so I could see it all day. One day, I came in early, about 6am, and not 15 minutes after I was there, a small pickup truck backed up to it, 3 guys jumped out, and proceeded to pick the bike up off it's wheels and start to load it. By that time I was in a full run towards them yelling profanities. They dropped the bike and jumped in the bed of the truck and took off. Crazy! It wasn't that much longer after that I had my TGB R9 parked in the same place. I used to leave my helmet on the handlebars. Some guy pulls up next to it, on a chinese scooter, and takes my helmet off my bike and rides off! I of course jumped on my bike, overtook him, and recovered my helmet. He said that "someone said he could have it". crazy Vegas!

I was thinking of trying a Dr. Pulley Trans for my new build. GoKartUsa has a complete kit. They call it their stage 6 kit. The kit includes: Gates Kevlar Belt Dr. Pulley HiT racing clutch Dr. Pulley racing variator Dr. Pulley sliders (can chose) Red, main trq springs.... But the price, on sale is $495.00 Anyone have a better price or better link? Dmartin, we were thinking about adding this kit setup to our lineup. What size belt is desirable? what weights? which springs the most common?

UPDATE: we have now totally sold off all the gy6-150 engines that had the incorrect top ends assembled on them advertised in this post. Thanks for all the support. I'm glad we caught this mistake from the factory and didn't sell them as 150's accidentally. We are fully in stock of REAL 150's, 50's, 100's 80's, 200's, 250's and 300's also. We may be adding a 4 valve water cooled scooter engine soon....

Yeah, I'm ready to move to Ecuador, or Uruguay. JK, no, really. Importing chinese scooter parts and engines has been more and more of a hassle. When the Department of Homeland Security took over the port customs they started doing "random" container checks. They would halt our containers, then move them over to their warehouse, unload, inspect, reload, then send us a bill for the trouble. The cost of this, which happened 3 times in a row...randomly... went up almost 10 fold. Now we've been severely delayed by this west coast port strike which had our ship with our container anchored off the coast of california for what seemed forever. It finally got unloaded, and now the import warehouse is hassling us because there seems to be one extra box physically, but nobody knows where or what it is. In the meantime we've got customers blowing up our phones really pissed off as if we did this whole delay thing on purpose, like it would somehow benefit us to be out of stock. It's not too bad right now, just a few parts out of stock, but when this happens during the summer it's a nightmare! I just don't know what to do. It's expensive to do business or manufacture or do anything anymore in the US. Permits, licenses, regulations, inspections, more and more do gooders getting more and more into your business and personal life and all the meanwhile the "service" of government gets more and more expensive and burdensome. Seems like you've got to be on the public doles or work for the government to even get by...or move to China and start a factory or business. They are flourishing from applying all the ways and means of doing business that we once pioneered here, but somehow we lost touch and cared about things other than being prosperous and successful. Just my personal thoughts, and not the opinion of ScrappyDogScoooters officially. Rick

All aluminum metal license plate for scooters!!! Looks and feels like the real thing and is regulation motorcycle plate size 4" x 7". This thing even has raised lettering and reflective material like the real thing. Reflective material makes you more visible to vehicles behind you and improves your safety. This also let's others know that your 49cc scooter/moped is legally on the road (as a motorized bicycle) and not just some hooligan without registration to be scoffed at and abused! Scrappy logo looks like an official state seal, and mounting holes are right where they should be for easy mounting www.scrappydogscooters.com/Scooter_Accessories.htmlwww.ebay.com/itm/271767095290?item=271767095290&viewitem=&vxp=mtr, no modification mounting on your scooter.

Hmm... 50mm x 57.8mm = 113cc.... Here in Michigan, 100cc is our scooter classification.... Over 100cc is considered a Motorcycle.... None of the BBK kits I have seen for a GY6 50cc are capable or producing 100cc, even with a stroker.... If you could shorten the stroke this engine and shave off 13cc's it could be marketed as a true 100cc for the GY6 50cc... Perhaps mounting kit adapters could be included...... Never mind this paragraph, just thinking a'loud..... OK, I see what you are saying. These have no indication on the outside as to what size they are. The cylinder is covered with the fan shroud.

Well, yes, they are gy6-150 engines, but a factory took these and built them with 50mm pistons instead of 57mm, so they have a displacement smaller than 150, but otherwise, they are complete, new in the box, running gy6-150 We're blowing these out cheap. Below is our ebay listing for it. If you are interested, simply PM me or email service@scrappydogscooters.com and we'll get one sent out to you. Top end kits are $50 bucks, or put a bbk on it, or just run it as is! Dealers, if you want more than one, there are volume discounts. www.ebay.com/itm/gy6-150cc-chinese-scooter-engine-new-motor-157qmj-taotao-vento-roketa-tank-ATV-/271756411133?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Yeah, not everyone wants a high revving scooter, but would rather have a high torque, responsive gy6 with some boost. Get this top quality taiwanese high torque head, with ram air tunnel effect intake manifold, A-14 cam and heavy rollers and with proper tuning, get a torque monster for real, everyday city riding. check www.scrappydogscooters.com/125_150cc_Performance.html

The problem with installing rings in a used bore mainly is that new rings will ALWAYS have too large of an end gap. The reason is that the bore had been worn larger than the standard size. It will also be much wider at the top where compression gases put more force on the cylinder and therefore made the bore even larger at the top 5 or 10mm or more, which is where most amateurs check end gap, and the top of the cylinder. new rings, no matter where they come from, will have excessive ring end gap because they are going in a used cylinder. If the cylinder is properly de-glazed with a hone, that will break the glaze, but will also make the bore even larger, and larger end gap you will get as a result. Bottom line. These things have cheap parts. Heck, a set of rings for my MV Agusta cost 10 times as much as a complete top end rebuild kit does for these. If you've spent the time to tear the engine down, why not do the job right and get everything new, and pay for decent parts from a reputable business? If it's to save money, you may realize it will cost you more money and time in the long run trying to save a few bucks up front. For those that disagree, and want just rings, we certainly sell them separate, and use higher grade rings to last longer. They may look the same, but they are not. The customer is always right in this regard of what they want, so we give them whatever they please. Just my personal opinion, and if you have any further tech questions, please contact MO! at tech@scrappydogscooters.com or give us a call to order, or order off the website.

I've installed alot of ring sets in my time, meaning hundreds, and never had to do an adjustment. I have had customers in the past insist on installing new rings without a new oversized piston and reboring and rehoning to break the glaze, and it never works. Customers that have bought rings and swore up and down the rings have excessive gap, when they are measuring the gap incorrectly. the cylinder is much larger at the top than at the middle, or at the bottom, which effects gap reading. also making sure the rings are perfectly square. Again, I've never had to adjust a set of rings. better to have them too wide than too tight. What I have found is that smoking is the result of incorrectly installed oil rings and separator, and/or gaps all lined up and not staggered. I've done it myself and gotten in a hurry, or when I was a rookie mechanic (late 70's). there is a process and procedure and things don't just bolt up and work unless you are a natural at it or have done extensive research in proper installation or have experience. I have noticed the more professional the mechanic, the less the mechanic blames parts... my personal observation and opinion. not the opinion of SDS.
