My BMS was doing the same thing. Started and idled high to start warming up. Then about 30-45 seconds later the idle dropped as the en richer activated... and or deactivated and the scoot stalled. I thought mine wasn't working right. Then I did the air/fuel mixture screw access and tuned the bike to instructions found here. Now it starts the same... and starts to drop, but doesnt stall. After about 60 seconds it levels out to the 1700-1800 idle.

www.dropbox.com/s/v1ooh66vwqtn25f/2014-09-16%2016.50.35.jpg?dl=0I've had my BMS Chelsea for the past 7 months/850 miles. Znens are definitely a higher quality. Because mine is California version, It was running lean so I accessed the air/fuel screw to enrichen. Now it runs flawless. I love this thing. I like it without the rear box better....but the storage is nice. Im a big boy...250 lbs and have no problems hitting 50 mph on level ground. and the speedo is accurate per gps. This scoot is a total head turner and people ask me about it all the time.

I just spent the day yesterday doing all the service for my 2013 BMS myself. It just turned 600 miles so it was time for an oil and gear oil change. On top of that I decided to check the valves, change the gas and vacuum lines, and drill out the cap for the air/fuel. I used online videos on you tube and instructions here and another forum. I am only a driveway mechanic with the basic tools.
The only issue I found was in reference to the valve adjustment. I looked through the view window and lined up the marks as instructed. These were off. It was easier to use the holes on the timing gear. My valves were too tight. Adjusted them to .005...
I took the whole carb out and did a good cleaning and inspection. Followed the instructions found on line. Only issue.... drill slipped and went into my hand...oops.
Gas and Vacuum lines...just switched one at a time so I didn't screw them up.
Started right up. a few adjustments to the idle/fuel/air mixtures and she runs better than ever. I learned a lot.
Next project is variator weights to move my fat better.

I'm running 15w40 Rotella in both my scoot and my Jeep 4.0. Makes that engine run smooth and quiet.

Thanks Alleyoop. I will have to play with it and open it up. I'm hearing that it may also be a belt case air cleaner cover. So much to learn.

I am confused... I have a post running in respect to variator weights. I want to change mine. Im being told that if I go to lighter weights ie 12 g.... the rpm will rise and I should get lower top end speed with better take offs. Heavier weights higher top speed. which is it?

Ok here is where i'm at;
SCOOT: I have a 2013 BMS Chelsea 150 cc (GY6 clone) scoot. It is stock except for a performance CDI and coil. It currently has 450 miles. I have done two break-in fluid changes. It runs great except for possibly a faulty enricher when cold... but not an issue.
ME: I'm a BIG boy. 260 lbs.
ISSUE:
On level ground I can easily get up to 50 mph. I rapidly start loosing speed on hills. On one of the hills, fairly steady and about a 1/2 mile long, it drops to about 35-38 mph.
Like I said earlier, the engine is running great. I'm thinking that changes in the variator and clutch may be in order....just don't know the best set up.
I'm good with the 50 mph top speed, just looking for more consistent hill climbs. Please give me some suggestions .
