I would love to see a clear pic of the cylinder please,,,,,this is me musing here,,,,I think this engine got ran out or very low on oil from your " friend" and the top ring froze in the piston,,,I think a good solid hone in the cylinder measure and get the correct size piston and rings and if the rods little end bush is good reassemble and go riding or if they're cheap enough get a piston, rings, cylinder combo assemble then go riding

It was in the pic where the piston was laying on its side on the white towel or carpet,,,it was crusted on the side of the piston above the top ring which is "normal",,, but on the second land? I don't think so,,,I think ultimately the top ring froze in its groove and it was all over but the cryin after that,,,the pics were fuzzy and that's about all I could get out of them

Looking at the side view of the piston pic I'm seeing gas flow blow by very bad,,,caked on the side of the piston like that means serious blow by issues ,,,the piston to cylinder tolerance is crazy,,, even tho it's not a good sharp pic I see textured buildup on the second land between the top and second ring,,,was the top ring hard to get out of the piston?,,,was it stuck in the top groove? The power loss you had was compression loss,,,I'm surprised it started at all to be honest with you,,there is where the" white" smoke came from,,, oil and unburnt fuel,,,,see if you can get a sharper pic of the cylinder,,$20 says it's not even round,,,,I would be checking for concentricity, and I'll bet another $20 the side piston to cylinder clearances is in excess of fifty thousand ,,,,that thing must have rattled like a coffee can full of nickels,,,check the rods little end bushing for scoring and galling,,that bush needs to be clean and straight,,,,also post a pic of the wrist pin ,,,,,let's see what that thing looks like,,,,please

my last three port jobs ,,,two being from zippers performance ,,,(a pretty successful high performance aftermarket supplier builder/developer with over 50 national titles under their belt) were finished with about a 220-280 grit look,,,i called them with concerns and they said "trust us this is the finish you want in a port,,, not polished for a normally aspirated machine",,,,i said you da boss,,,results were nothing short of spectacular

Ital, I'm not here to put you down or make you feel bad but just being honest, this Head work is a total Butcher job. The Intake tract goes in then has Two Dip down dimples on each side of the Valve guide, This should be a Flat Transition into the Bowls, this will cause a Flow "Eddie". The Exhaust has been Hogged out to wear the sealing ring for the header pipe is essentially gone. Will never get the header pipe to seal, The Head is now junk. geh333 is correct in the Header Pipe Diameter will be smaller than the Exh. Port, Now the Head Pipe will restrict the entire flow. Sorry for the news but Best of Luck OUCH!!!! this is from a guy that eats/breathes this stuff,,,

take the parts off of it you bought and call the cops,,,let them handle it,,,tell them the story of the handyman and they will take it from there,,,i would wager a guess it's stolen and he wanted it to run before it went back to his country,,,

I'm new to welcome just got my Zodiac 300 waiting for company to reply to my concerns over them telling me it had independent suspension it show up will a solid rear end. As I understand it you want the solid axel,,,the independent one has its woes,,,,,,see if they'll knock off a few hundred and run laughing into the night if they give you a refund

doubt you need two,,i've never run 2 even on my dirtbikes,,,there's a screen on the pickup tube on the petcock so i run one in line,,,anywhere in the line is fine,,,just make sure the fuel line is routed so it doesn't go uphill along the route
