In states like TX you keep the plate period. Just say the plate has meaning like a personalized plate. If your plates are stolen there's no issue of issuing new plates to a vehicle. What if you have 6 mos of good registration left on the plate? Don't you want that credited to your new vehicle? Tell buyer that's just the way it is. As far as selling the scoot they need full coverage ins on their current car/scoot, not just liability to cover a test ride. If no ins they can't ride legally anyways, endorsement too if applicable. If you have current ins it covers test rides, ever buy a car at a dealer? How does that work?

Don't forget they can impound your ride too for riding out of class of your DL. Then only the registered owner can get ride out and must have an endorsement then. Daily fees plus the tow and the fine on your record, is it worth it?

A few things I've learned selling on craigs. Set the price higher than your rock bottom price, everyone wants to walk away thinking they got a good deal. No test rides w/o cash in hand and M/C endorsement. Good pics of at least the 4 sides of the bike. Patience is key too, scooters are a niche market maybe 1% of the pop. M/Cs are only 5%.

I think it is compared to a new one. No falls and just broken in too. I'd offer him 25 Cnotes in front of his face, you'll probably ride away with it. Don't ask in an email or over the phone, do your lookin then show him the wad and say 25c's right now. Be prepared to walk away to your car and drive away.

Cut that price in 1/2 on amazon by buying an atv seat cover, then a gel pad to put underneath it.

Gas mileage has been brought up in many posts and that concern dumbfounds me. These 200cc or under get what as the worse gas mileage, 70mpg maybe? For $5 worth of gas you can thrill yourself for 100 miles...........anyways. Good thread.

Brand new only used once to verify it lit up and menu appeared. Sold scooter so no longer needed, new scoot is carbed. This is needed to diagnose Kymco EFI systems and to verify sensor inputs and CEL codes. $110 local/Denver area or $120 shipped. These cost $250 if bought online new. PM me with ph# and I'll get back asap.

Thanks, that is a very helpful link. Even though the Like isn't listed the other models give you the correct info to ID the bulb one might need.

You can go direct to the fuse or the batt, you'll need an inline on/off switch though. If you use the OEM switch I'd tie into the tail light wire.

With the 80 you need a m/c license, plates/reg, ins, title and pay taxes. 6k on any Honda wouldn't scare me away. But with that age your going to need a new belt [if no proof of replacement], fluids, check brakes etc........Piaggio is a nice scoot, seems new. It's decision time and only you can make it.

For me a lot of the consideration into buying a scoot was cost. What quality m/c can you buy brand new for 2k? I'm through with fast and freeway riding on 2 wheels, too dangerous in a major metro area, too many idiots. As I'm getting older it's just about fun and enjoying the ride. 163cc is big enough for me.
