Glad to hear you got your bumper finally. I don't think Ford will consider the pain still under warranty, good luck on that one. Probably not...but she might be able to wrangle a couple oil change coupons or something out of it. As she said: can't hurt to ask!

When he is painting it too, that $650.00 seems like a decent price to me. You can drive by a body shop and not get charged a lot more than that usually. Just a replacing damaged bumper COVER on my Magnum ran $980 4+ years ago. (Fortunately, the idiot that hit me had insurance.)

Justbuggin2 seems to have the idea! Don't sell engines...sell "display engine kits"! ;D

My uncle's contribution: "As long as it was in small, used bills, you could probably get it waved through for a lot less than $15 grand."
I am not endorsing this...but would be surprised it he were incorrect!

High 40's, overcast, a little raw, and really windy here. Not a bad day, but hardly riding weather. Might hit 70 tomorrow, though!

I am sorry if I have offended anyone with my comments. I know I will never change your mind and you will not change mine. So lets just say I am an old man with an attitude and let it go. I want this forum to be the best it can be and wish everyone on the forum the best in the world. Jerry Fine by me. Looks like I'm gone...have a nice life.

I have some of those, too...a few are from the time I called 911 because my father was using me as a punching bag for the hundredth time. Two cops showed up...they spent 10-15 minutes laughing and joking with him, told him not to "leave too many marks", and left. He beat me unconscious, gave me a concussion (one of a dozen or more), knocked out a couple teeth, and probably fractured my skull when he threw me down a flight of stairs. He told me if I "squealed" (his exact word) on either cop, he'd torture me to death.

I got my information straight from the Bureau of Labor Statistics & their 10 most dangerous jobs report. Police officers are not on the list, truck drivers are. (Unsurprisingly, the top three are fisherman, loggers, & miners.) Also note: last report I saw (I think from 2010), the most common cause of on-the-job death for a cop is a car crash.

I never used them...if I opened the back doors, it was almost always from outside. Did have the tailgate hit me in the melon the first day I had it, though.
And the second day I had it, I replaced the tailgate lift struts!

Appeals to emotion do not change facts. Facts and statistics can be written to prove almost anything the author wishes to. i never believe in top ten lists, what i posted a link to is the truth about people that died protecting others. In other words: all you have is emotion.

Thank you!
I almost had a stroke when I found a helmet I liked & saw it was damn near $450. I'm just leery of ordering online...I need to try it on first, especially having glasses.

Well...I go for my M.O.S.T. new-rider course in 2 weeks (the 19th, 20th, 21st). For that, aside from buying gloves, I can get away with stuff I have...Dickies Industrial Wear work pants, either a sweatshirt or one of the safety (hi-vis) shirts from work, and they have brain buckets.
But, I need gear. I need a jacket & a helmet. I looked at a local MC shop, I looked at online shops...and now am totally confused. So, I'm looking for suggestions.
Helmet: It has to be at least a 3/4 face model, full face is also fine. I tried a couple of modular helmets, all of which I found very heavy. I do not need headphones, a heater, intercom, Bluetooth, a coin-op ear-massager, or any of the other stuff--I want a HELMET, not an entertainment center. I want any color except black or white...high-visibility yellow or traffic-cone orange would be preferred. The helmet MUST accommodate my glasses.
Jacket: MUST be hi-visibility, either yellow or orange, with reflective striping. Must be lightweight & vented. I'm 5'10" and about 245lbs, so it should be available in a 2XL or an XL-tall (or XL-fat).
