The load is 454lbs per tire.

I disagree about Vespas with those tiny wheels riding great. Excuse me, GREAT! The one I rode was so squirrelly, I thought I'd never ridden a bicycle in my life. I felt like a drunk driver must feel, only with awareness. It convinced me I was wrong to want to buy a scooter. Then the dealer put me on the 16-incher. Oh baby this is for me, oh yes Precious it is! So no iddy-bitty 10s for this 'Kat, no sir! My scoot (and every Honda Helix) rides on a 10" rear (12" front) tire...its fine even at 65MPH!

If so, he should be locked up.

Wouldn't help. Just the PART for the HVAC was $600!

Isn't "i" simply indicating it has fuel injection?

Most MSF courses use 250's (or smaller...the one I did had a couple of Yamaha 125's), usually Rebels, Nighthawks, or Suzuki GZ's.

The speed rating is a letter after the load index. Example: OE rear tire on a Helix is a 120/ -10 66J. That one is J-rated. The snows on my Dakota are 215/75R15 99S. They are S-rated (112MPH). Best guess: yours are J-rated. Having said that...at 70MPH, I'd trust a J-rated tire from a reputable company (Bridgestone, Michelin, Dunlop) more than an S-rated tire from some "China Star Rubber Company"!

great story,,,and the new bikes are great too aren't they?,,,good fun Cyborg,
You got THAT right! Bikes, cars... anything with an engine and wheels today is WORLDS better than in "the good old days". Guess vehicles have to be considered part of the "good new days"! Ride safe! Leo ...right up until your car's heater stops working, and you are told the repair (a new HVAC control panel) will cost you $1050 and might fix the problem! Or you get a teaspoon of water in your new F-350's fuel, and are told the repair will be at least $10,000. (That's not a typo.)

Or for you, when they splatter you across the road.

.... You shouldn't be proud of being able to haul 24 bottles of beer What? You don't need to do a Beer Run? Old picture -- I can carry two cases, I now have luggage racks front and rear. Do you don't drink, or is it that you use your Hamster Cage for carrying groceries? I can verify that I can, in fact, put not two 12-packs in my scoot's top box! (I don't drink...but Sam Adams is a nice bribe when you need help moving furniture.)

I see it all the time and it looks ridiculous....
Your opinion doesn't mean squat. I have a $4,599 MSRP Vespa. I have a $25 Rubbermaid 8 gallon Actionpack box.
I did not buy for a scooter for fun. I bought the scooter for transportation. I got the Vespa because I expect it to last at least 10 years / 80,000 miles. My Scooter is a shopping cart. I can stash 30 pounds of groceries in the lockable tail box, more under the seat, and I now have a front rack so I can carry case of 24 bottles of beer foreward. Err...I would bet that 30lbs of groceries is WAY, WAY more than that rack is rated for!

I have been on the highway on my Qlink...it does 60-65 with no drama, though accelerating to full speed does take some planning.

I rode motorcycles a few times, ever since, I've wanted some sort of 2 wheel vehicle scooters seem just right. I'm just looking for something to get me around town. So, recommend something for me What I need in a scooter: able to seat 2 durability. under 1200 I don't really care about the style honestly. I'm more worried about quality. Also looking for something from one of those websites, so I guess, recommend me a good online dealer where I could find whatever scooters you recommend as well! Thanks Used Japanese 250. A Honda Helix will meet all your requirements (as will a Honda CH250 Elite), thought $1200 for one is tough. The Q-Link Commuter 250 and the CF Moto Fashion 250 are clones (bolt-for-bolt...I think they bought the rights to it from Honda) of the Helix...they're Chinese, but the quality, while not quite up to Honda standards, seems to be much better than many China scoots. My Q-Link IS highway-capable...it will cruise comfortably at 65. Honestly...I have to admit I like the "snowmobile on LSD" styling.

One point I haven't seen: many big guys do not FIT on a "small" motorcycle! When I trained for my MC license, I was on a Honda Nighthawk 250, and I could barely ride it!
