I don't have very many miles on my Kymco but it has some pretty obvious quality. I did a lot of research before I purchased, and I did come across a couple that had 70,000 miles on a pair of older Kymco 150's, I forget the model.
I am very impressed with the power, quality and steady 75 mpg on my 300.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least that much. It's probably more. My moped is $1,550. I'll drop $250 on a helmet for a bike that price but not $1,000+. it's an interesting idea but i think it would annoy me. i don't want my helmet telling me when and where to turn. I thought it would annoy me, but I have a HUD and nav on my new ride (car) and it is awesome. Gonna try a new restaurant? Just press a button and say "navigate to 4827 4th street, Minneapolis MN" Bing, bang, boom....voice directions and nav queues on the windshield. I don't own a cell phone so I don't care about phone calls, and really don't want one in traffic on a scooter. But I agree that the cost of this is going to be ridiculous. I suppose the rear view is kind of cool but my mirrors are pretty good and I watch them relentlessly. It seems like it is for the guy who has a bunch of cash and like to show off the coolest toys. I would be more interested in a couple helmets with an reasonable two way communications setup for rides with a friend. A couple of nice fm walkies can be had for $20 at Menards, but if you want that built into a helmet, the price goes up ten fold. Ridiculous.

I just see it as if you can afford a $2,000 scooter than you can afford a $200 trunk. I suppose I fell into that trap. I spent probably $500 for a Givi trunk and custom rack specifically for my scooter. I did want it to look nice. But in my defense, the scooter is a hobby I like to spend some money on, I wanted it to look nice, I might take some overnight tours that a milk crate is not really built for, and if I ever upgrade the ride, the Givi stays with me. It is a nice top case.

I don't use any gas treatment in my scooter's tank, don't know if that will be a problem or not.
My state has a 10% year round ethanol mandate, and on all my power equipment like snow blowers and mowers and such, the general rule to avoid ethanol crud is to drain the tank and run the engine dry until you can't get it to fire anymore when you are going to store it. With this method, my last snowblower went 20 years as a hand me down from my father and my mower is going on 11 years without issue and starts on the first pull. The ethanol can not gel if it is all burned and gone.
The scooter is only two years old, and gets mid grade gas. The only additive I use periodically in my car is Techron concentrate every 10,000 which I read is an excellent fuel system cleaner included in Chevron Gas, but we don't have Chevron stations here. I suppose next time I do the car I will put a splash in the scooter perhaps.
I have stored my summer cars and a boat with a mercruiser inboard for about 20 years without any additive and without fuel issue, but they only sit for five months in between use at the longest and have noticed no issues with either.
On a side note, I have not owned the scooter long enough to see any drop off in performance due to fuel issues (it has 1300 miles on it) but I have never seen any evidence of better running or mileage out of using a fuel system cleaner on any car, even with high miles. What I HAVE seen better running and mileage from was using carb cleaner spray to clean out air flow meters, throttle body butterflies, sensor elements attached to the engine. and other related parts that get lots of carbon and gunk. Fuel treatments did not seem to do anything to these because the fuel was injected downstream of most of these parts.
But I think additives to reduce gum and varnish are not necessary if you use quality gas and use regularly. If you are going to store it, my advice is drain and run dry. But if you don't want that, the stabilizer might be good for you.

I am in the camp of running it. I have easy access to the bike.
I have had a summer car for the last 20 years and the bike for the last couple. Since I have easy access to them in the garage, I look for any mild weekend day and fire them up and let them run until needle is fully up to temp, and then several minutes more. Usually while I am futzing around in the driveway with a snow shovel. Never have had any white residue in the oil from condensation.
The first year I had a summer car, I did not do this. It sat for five months. I fired it up in the spring and made the most horrible sounds I feared for my piston rings and cylinder walls. Have been in the monthly running camp ever since and they always start and run as if they were being used regularly, with no frightening sounds.
As far as seals drying out, the worst are car air conditioning seals, and running helps a great deal. On a scooter, that is not a problem, but 10 degree below zero weather is REALLY dry, and my personal preference is to run the engines and lube them up periodically to keep them in good working order.

It is so dead it will need the zombie virus to come back.
It is so dead, even Lazarus could not pull off that kind of resurrection.
It is so dead, it needs a cemetery plot.
It is so dead............
Ok, I gave it a shot.

I have something similar but a different design. It is the Monokey series. They make nice cases. I bought mine because it had a specific rack strictly for my model of scooter that looked nice. I have been very happy with it so far.

Congrats. Kymco makes a nice product. That People GT you mentioned is a pretty fast scooter. Mine is the same engine with about 3 extra pounds and I have had it up to 86 mph and still pulling a bit and that was more than enough for me. It has a very accurate speedo so I was probably doing in the range true speed. It gets me 72-76 every tank, yours should be as good or better. Looks like you got a great deal.

But the video doesn't show the entire story only what they did. I have read reports from other newspapers that the car had hit one of the bikers way befor you see it in the video . When he hit the biker they went to chase and that's when you see the video start . The guy stopping I front of the SUV in the beginning of the video is when they first pulled him over after he hit another biker in the first place . How many times has a cager threatened your life with them not looking were they are going ? My ex was going to collage on her honda cb400 once and a car load of ditsy blondes pulled out I front of her causeing her to wreck and total the bike . The ditsy blondes we like ."...oops so sorry we didn't see you ha ha ha ..." And sped away . I have had close calls myself and I have been to many biker rallies and ridden in pacs and have seen to many times the stupid cagers dont even bother to look or claim they didn't see you . Lost a couple friends that way too. Is it right what they did .....well I won't say yes or no but I have been in that situation to often and yes in the old days that happened several times . This isn't anything new ....happened all the time back in the day .....group out for a ride some jack hole causes them to wreck or runs one down and speeds away ...bikers gave chase and took care of business . Hmmm..."some jack hole causes them to wreck or runs one down and speeds away... bikers gave chase and took care of business" Took care of business??" Purposely slowing down inches in front of the SUV is not "Taking care of business" When they pulled the man out of his car and assaulted him, is not "taking care of business". What they did was a crime and not "business" Correct. The original accident, as has been correctly reported, was called an accident by the police and shown clearly in video from the scene, the biker crossed in front of the SUV and then braked. The SUV driver might have been able to stop had he reacted quicker, but he was in a swarm of idiots. When he stopped they began attacking the vehicle. I would have sped away too. I don't blame the driver at all and I think freefour's take is inaccurate and immature. Pulling a man out of a car and beating him in front of his wife and two year old is not "taking care business." It is being a criminal douchebag and hopefully results in prison.

Mine is a Tour Master Intake Air 2, I think the Intake Air 3 is the current model. But if you can't find that model, just go to a big store and try on a bunch of different ones, sooner or later you will find one of those on closeout online.
Tour Master Intake Jackets are generally small so look at the sizing chart and buy one size bigger than recommended or find a store to try them out.

I have a couple armor jackets. I bought the Xelement from leather up for $50 and it was ok. It was protective but not super comfortable and decent for hot weather. It is certainly worth $50.
But I went into a local motorcycle store and tried on some of the spendy ones. I liked a Tour Master, it was a great jacket but it was around $250. Great armor, soft other padding, great fit, zip in and out rain AND insulated liners so it was all season. Still did not want to spend $250. Did a google search on the Tour Master and the jacket model (can't remember) and a bunch of ads came back for closing out the last years model. The color choices were limited, and so were sizes, and the exterior pattern was a little different but basically the same jacket for $80 shipped. Awesome jacket, great deal.
It has armor on the spine where the Xelement has terribly cheap foam, and it has extra padding patches where the Xelement has none. The shoulder and elbow armor pads in both are level three and feel about the same to be honest, but the Tour Master is a FAR better jacket for the extra $30. I would not tell somebody to skip out on buying an Xelement over nothing, but the extra money for a closeout was worth every penny.
If you try on a couple of the spendy name brands ones for fit and to see what you like, you can still get one cheap if you look around and get really good quality for not that much more than the ones on Leather Up. So many motorcycle gear closeout places online it is silly.

Wow, this thread is exactly what I was looking for. I found the MC-05-127cc on Superior Power Sports like many of you did and got here by Googling every term I could find. Anyways, I am a novice rider and am interested in buying this bike for my first "real" bike. I had a 1983 Maxim 650 about 4 years ago but only for a few months. I was hoping to use this as my first bike to get my endorsement. Can any of you seriously recommend this bike? If I do decide to purchase it, what all do you think I should get at the same time? I'm looking at a 36T sprocket to put in from the start and running 10w40 during the break-in period. Loctiting everything and starting out with a better quality spark plug. I read on this thread to also replace all of the shiny bolts with different ones to prevent rust. I'm just trying to figure the overall initial cost before making this large of a purchase. Thanks to anyone who can give me any advice! I have been following this thread and while I like the fact that people are willing to take the plunge and tinker, I have seen a few Kymco Quannon 150's appear on Craigslist a few times at rock bottom prices and wonder if it is not just easier to pick up one of those used for a few hundred if you are just interested in a short term bike that is small size and good on gas. It will top out at 75mph and I have seen the asking price as low as $750 on local CL.

I am sure there is a great variation in suspension quality depending on design and components. But my scooter was described as having a "sporty" ride by a few reviews I read. Apparently that means when you go over a bit of broken pavement the rear swing arm goes WHAM!
I thought most scooters were supposed to be a little less forgiving in the rear due to the design, but my front fork feels a bit soft to me. Though it is the only one I have ever owned so I have little to compare to.
