Nice but not nice enough for the amount that they're probably asking for the helmet.

Nice but not nice enough for the amount that they're probably asking for the helmet. I am wondering how much they will ask for that helmet. I am thinking $1,000+ Which is way more than most are willing to spend on a helmet. plus i constantly drop my helmet and dropping this one will probably ruin the display.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least that much. It's probably more. My moped is $1,550. I'll drop $250 on a helmet for a bike that price but not $1,000+.

I use my bike for business travel quite a bit I already have most of the capability of this helmet built into the bluetooth that I use but I would welcome the navigation abilities that the HUD incorporates. It looks a lot easier than trying to mount your phone and having to deal with the possibility of destroying it due to water damage or whatever. I can tell you having to fiddle with getting everything right with the headset and the helmet and the jacket and the balaclava etc. is a PITA one single unit that is compatible with everything sounds good to me.

There's GPS models specifically designed for bikes that are shock proof and weather proof.

Yes there are but I don't need another thing to have to carry around. Besides the GPS app on my phone is excellent why would I want to buy something else unless it could be as versatile as this helmet. If they can do the helmet for around $500 I would consider it I have seen similar concepts projected at that amount...

I just don't see this helmet being $500 unless the company offers different models with different features.

I'm typing this from a small computer that is more powerful than the ancient beast I use at the office, with an awesome screen that fits in my hands and the phone company gave it to me... For free (sure it retails around $400 but...). HUD has been around for a long time I don't see it being all that expensive to implement with current technology. These aren't the only guys doing this either...

Geez-oh-man! One of the reasons I quit a scooter club was because of stuff like that distracting the riders I was riding with using this kind of stuff. The rider would be so distracted running red lights, stop signs, rear ending someone, and not seeing someone pulling out onto the road will be assured.
