but i think next scoot will be the BLUR USA made and all
I think the Blur is made by PGO of Taiwan, just imported by Genuine of Chicago. Super neat bike though, but a little high in the seat for me. My dealer had a demo just like the white one in the picture with 220 miles on it from customer test drives and had it listed for $2,200 last year. The salesman told me they would let it go for $2k flat, but I bought a different ride.

After riding home one late, cold, raining November 2011 evening...I found this on Craig's List. The gods werre watching over me that nightt. Made it home safe, found the perect helmet,...correct size, color, features, and best of all...$$. It's a Nolan N103...excellent condition. The newest model I've seen is the N104. They are a bit pricey new though. Features I like: comfort, light-weght, warm in winter, cool in summer, vented, modular full-face w/drop-down sun visor and the styling. Italian made,...not Snell approved, but, tests have shown 0% failure on the locking mechanism. , , Absolutely love this helmet Yellowscoot, I am glad to hear you like it. I have been searching for the right helmet to add to the collection and did a lot of research. I wanted to get a helmet that offered the flip up, was safe, not too noisy and came at a reasonable price. I just ordered the Nolan N104 model which is pretty similar but supposedly a little lighter and larger viewing area. I found it at Revzilla for $325, which is on the expensive side but not as bad as the Shoei Neotec for $600. I love the Neotec, and our local shop has it on sale for $540 this weekend only, but the Nolan seemed to be so similar at a much lower price. The Shoei Multitec older generation helmet got poor ratings for side impact protection from SHARP and the face shield failed to stay locked in 17% of the testing so I skipped it. The Nolan got high marks for impact on all sides, AND the front face shield holding up in testing was a definite plus. Top notch safety, flip up and sun shield. Can't wait to try it out. BTW...I think the helmet would probably pass Snell tests, but they do not test modular flip ups as I understand. Gets the ECE rating though which is tougher than DOT. According to the SHARP site, one of the safest helemts and a flip up was the Carberg Duke, not sold in the US and so not DOT rated, but it was a pretty inexpensive helmet offered in the UK and to the Aussies.

I have seen a 2009 burgman at a bmw scooter dealer for 1800 with 20, 000 miles in excellent condition. Is that a good deal concerning the mileage of the scoot. If it is well taken care of that is a steal. There will be some wear on things like tires and brakes, but the engine will go well beyond 20,000 miles.

I don't think it fits your shifting criteria, but I'd personally get either this:
or this

Interesting site for test results of helmets by a company in tthe UK. A couple of things, the products reviewed on this site are not always comparable to products sold here. Bell helmets is a different entity in the UK and the helmets are not the same. Others may be the same products under different names, and many helmets are not available stateside. It does provide an unbiased testing of many models. I was surprised to see the Arai helmets (which I was just going to purchase because they are the "best" according to many) fared poorly on side impacts in most of the models tested. My Scorpion EXO 700 fared better and was cheaper. Anywho...check it out if you like. sharp.direct.gov.uk/testsratings/arai-quantumThe one thing that surprised me is how much better the ratings for Shoei are than Arai given the similar reputation. The Shoei Qwest helmet seems to be the best buy of the "expensive" helmets. About $330 for a 5 star rating. The Arai are higher priced with much lower ratings in general. HJC was the other brand I recognized, and they seem to have very marginal impact ratings.

My wife is from Honolulu and we go every year for the holidays, but this coming December, a friend is coming out and he has his MC license as well. A place called big Kahuna Rentals has a Burgman 400 and a new BMW 650. We are going to rent them and take a ride around Oahu. Looking forward to it. Nice to know I can fit my wife under the seat. (I kid, I kid!)
