Yeah, I'm assuming the "under 2 horses" is still a requirement for the scoot/moped to still be legal. Anything over 2hp would be illegal regardless of speed.
Before the new law it was: 1) under 2 horses, 2) under 25/30mph on flatland, and 3) under 50cc

It's one of those things where I just can't pinpoint face, name, and movie.
I like watching some older stuff like that every once in awhile. It's a whole different world than today's big/little screen.
My grandma always had that channel on that played movies like that all day (AMC?).

indiana law: all 50cc and under scooters must be registered, you do not need a "license" all other scooters must be plated as motorcycles, you need a license for these. if your license gets suspended, so does the registration on your 50cc REGARDLESS if you was riding it. your license was suspended for a reason, and that is to keep you from operating any motorized vehicle. That's false. You can ride an under 50cc scooter in Indiana on a suspended license, as long as the requirements are met. That's what the law is designed around--- allowing people with susp licenses a way to work. It comes right out of the bill's author's mouth: www.indystar.com/story/news/2014/10/22/moped-scooter-riders-indiana-face-tighter-rules/17739855/You can register an under 50cc with a susp license.

Now Carrie Fisher's mom, Debbie Reynolds (actress) passed away. Never heard of her, but thought I'd add it here. Sad that so many don't know the great leading ladies but then fame is fleeting and fickle to be sure. Watch Singing in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown which are Classics. She worked in TV until last year and her career spanned 60 years. Death of ones children is hard to deal with at any age. I may check those out.

Just remember, keep it below 35mph or you'll be screwed for sure. They might be out to get you after you file that lawsuit, lol.

Yeah my garage lighting sucks, too. Plus, my garage is basically a storage space so it can be a real P.I.A. to move around in when needed. It's usually just enough room.
I like using those headlamps. I also bought a cheap floor standing lamp that uses up to 150w bulbs-- just for general lighting. The headlamp and the floor standing lamp help "supplement" the big whopping 60w bulb in the garage. My garage is pretty small.

How many miles/km?
I have yet to get more than 15k (prob 10k on average) on a 139qmb 50/72cc crankshaft. The crank rebuilds I did lasted even less than the originals.
I debated for awhile on getting a beefier, better quality crank but those run $120-170. So between the higher crank prices, new top end, all the other smaller things, I said screw it and bought a new engine instead the last few times.

Partsforscooters is the ONLY parts place that I've NEVER had an issue with (not even minor), after scooting for 8 1/2 years and ordering all my parts online during that time. Never a damaged part, always on time in the mail, good website, and good service. It's no wonder they've been around for quite awhile!
Easily a top parts site in my book. By far!!

A turkey grinder sounds really good right now with: turkey (who would've guessed?), bacon, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and mayo, on some good ciabatta bread (whatever bread). Of course pop that in the oven for a bit, putting the lettuce and tomato on afterwards. YUM!!
Sliced lunch meat works year round....

Honestly I don't even remember what my exhaust looked like when I got my scoot with 250km on the odometer. Soooo, saturate some rags with vinegar/water (50/50) and wrap them around the exhaust. Follow up by wrapping plastic wrap over the rags to keep them in place. Let it set for several hours or overnight. If the rust doesn't come off as well as in the video, would you use a green scouring pad or a non-scratch dish scrubbing pad? Non-scratch pad or even just a course cloth if the chrome has not blistered and you want to save it. Polish with a rag with some baking soda used like cleanser. Test on a similar piece from the scrap bin to get a feel for it. I recycle the baking soda used to keep the refrigerator fresh however my kids saw me do that and now I have competition as they like it better than using Comet or Ajax on their fancy pots and pans. Not a bad idea, I have some baking soda in the fridge. So basically a dry polish? No liquid at all, just the baking soda and rag? The only thing on my exhaust that's not rusted is the little shield and the cover near the end. I'm not going to put much more money into this scooter and next year may be my last with it. It's been around the block quite a few times. I'll probably just put it off to the side after next fall. I just want the rust off the exhaust. Not sure about anything else yet or about painting it.

Double check and count the teeth on the crankshaft sprocket that drives the oil pump gear, most are 16t, but the last couple cranks in the engines I had were 22t. Not something you want to find out after putting the case back together, like I did. At least Scrappy offers both, the 16t and 22t. 2 or 3 years ago, none of the vendors here had them (the 22t) on their sites, nor does % of the sites out there. Sprocket swap works though.

Kevin Bacon
Actor or not, anyone who intentionally experiences death for 5-10 minutes (Flatliners), takes on underground monsters (Tremors), and gets killed by Jason Voorhees' mother (F13th) is pretty macho, imo. Just to name a few....

I feel like the engines aren't why people call the cheap Chinese scoots we all know "junk". I'm talking about people that actually own one and not someone being stereotypical. It's usually the littler things like a cdi, voltage rec/reg, vacuum petcock...etc that fail pretty early and frustrate people that aren't the greatest amateur mechanic, just calling the whole deal junk rather than just the part or whatever the small problem is (valve adj..etc). That small stuff happening isn't uncommon, imo, and I think us members overcome stuff like that (at least somewhat active members)
I feel like the top and bottom ends of these motors are the best parts as long as you don't go to extremes with the rpms and massive bbk.
I've come to expect 10-15k on my engines w/72cc bbk the way I ride and maintain it and I'm happy for the most part. Just wish my cranks lasted a bit longer but that is probably somewhat my fault for the reasons just mentioned.
Honestly my scooter LOOKS like a piece of junk sometimes with the broken panels and stuff. Gotta be really careful with those panel tabs. Lots of wear and tear over time.
