Is there any way you can take a better picture of JUST the variator--- just a closeup of the same angle/view showing where the rollers are placed, the way it's sitting/facing in the first pic that you posted(at the top of the pic). The zoom looks really blurry.

If it was covered and inside I'd rebuild it. Outside uncovered with the head and cylinder off for 2 years---probably not, and definitely not without splitting the case...IMO.

I too think of terri-gal, every time I check the forum. I do hope she gets off early so she can rejoin her kitty-kiddies and have her freedom! Missing you, terri! >'Kat It wouldn't surprise me if she did get out a few months early. Lot's of places offer either education classes of some sort(G.E.D..etc), and other certain classes that you can take, that will get a few months knocked off---even up to 6 months to a year.

The valves are set at .03 and .04 and it's still in time. It just won't start. Typo? .003 and .004 inches .03 and .04 if in millimeters is way to tight

Make sure the crankshaft oil pump sprocket matches the oil pump and gear that you have now. I'm only aware of the 16 and 22 tooth. Just count the teeth. Most sites don't label the specs, or label every spec besides that.

My buddy just got out of jail for OWI(dui). I've been there a few times, probably longer than most others---young and dumb. Think you can take that chance and drive, it'll get you sooner or later. For starting a thread like this, my respect went up by far for you. A couple of days isn't bad--- I hope you learn, that's all I can say.

I respect how you at least are looking at the laws. People around here think, and that includes dealers, that just because it's 49.whatever cc---that you don't need a license to ride. It amazes me the the misinterpretation of laws---especially with mopeds/scoots. That, in turn, could get someone in trouble.

From my experience, the sliders seemed to hold whatever speed I wanted better. I had my sliders for a tad over a year(estimate 5-6,000km at the most), and they were pretty jacked up looking.

Pretty sure that's JR's forum. I'm a member there--ICEMAN, but this forum is pretty much the only one I post on anymore. I've learned so much the last 4-5 years, that I don't spend as much time anywhere else---scooter related. Still, I like to help out when I can.
