Do a plug chop to see how the jetting is and check the valves

It will start after it cools down. I think it's over heating. What would cause this?

Yes, put in a bigger main jet before you burn it up. Alleyoop

I'm don't know the jet size. I bought an entire kit. It came with the jet, and said to put it in. So I did. I think it said it was a 80.

I'm don't know the jet size. I bought an entire kit. It came with the jet, and said to put it in. So I did. I think it said it was a 80. All of the above. Also recheck your valve settings..when they heat up they expand and will be partially open if not set correctly. Hence one reason that it will start when the engine cools down. I have seen many BBK's come with #78 and #80 jets...which is just asking to run hot. As alleyoop said # or # is best. That is what I put in all BBK's.(the 80cc ones..use a bigger one for the 100cc kits) Some manufacturers must have no clue about proper jet size. I bought a higher end Big Bore for my 2 stroke Minarelli. It came with a #78 jet.. It needs a #87.5 or # or it will run lean and soft seize on me..

What are you setting the valves to? Should be .003 for intake and .004 for exhaust

I don't get it. I have spark, gas, and air. What else do I need? You have to have them all happen at the right time. Did the chain jump a tooth?
