Hit a HUGE pothole on the way home tonight and either my hand hit the kill switch or the sudden jarring of the pothole somehow did it. Either way it was the first thing I checked when I got off my scooter-- I seriously thought my spark plug boot came off the plug at first! Lol. I hate when that happens,,you should see me going down some of these roads,,I must look wasted drunk avoiding holes..lol There is a side street that I go down often, and I will go on the other side of the street to avoid the potholes. Some train tracks I cross are just as bad. I guess that is the downside of having 10" rims (3.5x10 tires) EDIT: I'm going to find that pothole tomorrow afternoon, too. I was moving along pretty good when I hit it, so that is part of the problem.

Sounds like Alley hooked you up! Right on man.
If it was me I'd take the back tire off, set it on the ground, and then if it rolled on down the street by itself--- CALL GHOSTBUSTERS!!

I'll keep those points in mind about the springs.

Thanks guys.
One thing is for sure-- it doesn't even sound like I'm going anywhere on this scoot anymore, lol. This thing is almost too quiet now.

I'm not really sure what else to change-- I prefer a bit more power/torque(whatever) at lower speeds (from 0-35 on my speed-o) than what the 49/17 gives me. I'm not sure if lighter than 7.7g rollers would help, but I do have 7g coming in the mail.

Hahaha nice one.
Seriously though, I'm going to order the 50/16 and try those.

Lol, Alley--- I'm aware of that, but they "claim" higher top speed in the description. That's why I posted that. I remember those gears waaay back in scootdawg days.
Maybe higher top speed over a span of 50 feet..

I took my gears, the secondary gears, to NAPA Auto Parts' machine shop to get it pressed off/on. It only cost me $8. The only things worth noting is that there is a little plastic spacer(?) deal that you don't want to lose on the back of one of the gears. Also, a couple of bolts are of different sizes, so I cut holes in carboard in the pattern that they are on the engine, then placed the bolts through through them--- I didn't cut holes for the gear oil drain and fill bolts though. I replaced the drain bolt after draining the oil, and left both in the case.

Will do spandi,, Hey onewheeldrive,,I need to take my gearbox apart sooner or later might do some taller gears for when I get a cam and big port,,how hard was it to do and is the 50cc pretty much the same as the 150 ?? Thanks I haven't been in a 150cc box, but it shouldn't be any more complex (if at all) than a 50cc gearbox. It may just be different to access is all. I've seen scooters that you could change the gears by taking a plate off in the cvt behind the clutch. It was really easy to do on mine. I took off the exhaust, tire, clutch..etc (whatever to get access to it), took the gears out, and swapped them. Really cake. I used only the original gasket without any sealer or whatever (if there isn't any sealant, you can reuse it-- no tears at all). No leaks yet, and if needed, it's a lot easier to deal with than the crankcase halves. I knew/know that I'll be going back in there anyway-- no big deal. If the gasket tears it's not the end of the world if you ride it waiting on ordering a new one.

Why are the oil coolers so expensive?! Are they expensive to make or is it just because it's quite nifty so they can charge an arm and a couple legs?
If they could somehow get the cost down while still being of good quality, if possible, everyone and their brother on here would probably have one.

It makes me wonder about the threadlocker or whatever they use for the case bolts, too. With all the vibration on these scoots, who knows what happens. Also, it seems when or if you re-torque bolts that you use(d) threadlocker on, it would only make sense to re apply it before attempting any torquing--- other wise your just going to break the bolt loose. Yeah?

I have to give some credit to 90gtvert over at 49ccscoot for some of that. I watched his bearing video he did, and it was VERY well done!
