Still patiently waiting on the Naraku jet kit. It's been about a month. I'm supposed to get an email when it hits the U.S.

It would be nice to have an actual oil filter on these scoots . I'm a nut too when it comes to oil changes--- something I wish I was at the very beginning of my original engine. I was shooting for around every 500km, but the average has been probably about 650km or so. The first 3 or so changes were much closer intervals.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't tinkered with it. Been busting butt at work, so when I get home it's "lazy-time". Yeah right, more like dishes, laundry...etc, lol.

Pics are always helpful with component assembly. I'll try and get some pics up late tonight.

I may take it back. HF is out of town so it prob won't be today.
The switch came apart easier than expected. Inside the switch was 2 small springs with little removable metal contacts(?) at the end of each spring, with 4 contact points (assuming 2 for loosen, 2 for tighten) in an "x" pattern. I figured maybe the springs were weak--- something isn't making contact properly, so I stretched them a tad thinking maybe they weren't pushing the little metal tabs onto the contact points. I put it back together and still the same problem. There wasn't much else in there besides grease. Forgive the lack of "lingo", lol.

Is the 80cc actually the 72cc (some sell 72 as 80)? If so, that big carb must make a huge difference in jetting.

I thought about cutting the alignment tabs off, but never tried it.

I had bulbs like that. The problem is that you can only put the bulb in one way. There are little tabs you have to line up when putting the bulb in-- and the tabs aren't evenly spaced, so you can't just flip it around.
I wound up just dealing with it and ordering bulbs from a different place. When one burned out, I replaced it with one that worked properly-- so for awhile I was riding with one bulb bright and the other bulb dim (and vice-versa), instead of both being dim when supposed to be bright (and vice-versa). That lasted only until I got another pair in the mail.

Ran into an issue with the harbor freight emergency impact. The little switch above the trigger (tighten/loosen) doesn't work well at all anymore. If I put it in the "left" (loosen) position, I have to forcefully move it even farther left for the switch to even register (and it won't always register)--- keep in mind the switch lever is flimsy plastic. The "right" (tighten) position only works a tad better.
I thought maybe the casing wasn't allowing full motion, so I took the wrench apart the other day. I didn't see any bad connections, and the switch still acted the same even with free movement. So the problem appears to be in the trigger switch-- the tighten/loosen switch is built into the trigger itself-- everything seems "snapped" together. That's the problem, I'm worried it'll break when prying it apart.
I can take a pics of the switch. Any ideas?

There are a few gas stations that aren't pre-pay around here. Out of 11 gas stations, I'd say 8 or 9 aren't pre-pay.

I ran out of gas a few times last year because I was in no hurry to fix my gas gauge. Not a big deal unless you forget to check the tank or just plain space it off, lol. I had to push it a couple miles to a closed gas station, after taking the back way into town after work. I got about 7 cents out of the hose--- it was enough to make it across town to a gas station that was open. Some gas stations have pumps that if you do SOS in morse code with the pump nozzle handle lever it will pump free gas and bill it to the state. Might be a myth, my friend who manages a gas station on the highway told me about it, but I'm not about to try to get free gas when I can drop pocket change to get anywhere lol. I got pulled over once for not paying for gas. I went to the gas station to gas the scoot up and bought smokes (back when I smoked cigs), handed the cashier a twenty, got my change (didn't count it!) and left.. Went to Burger King for a late night snack, and sure enough, once I left the drive-thru and pulled around behind the grocery store there, I got pulled over. Lol. I didn't think anything of it until he started asking me where I was coming from (lol). I just assumed she added the gas on to the smokes (it was late and I was the only person there). My fault. Nothing happened, they just followed me to the gas station to make sure I paid.

187*F oil temp --after a 3-4 or so mile ride, w/pitstops though. 66*F outside around 2:30am (and it feels great!).
I'll test it going to work, which is 9 real miles one-way. It's where the majority of my miles come from anyway.
139qmb style engine, with 72cc bbk. Castrol 10w30 dino oil-- it's what I'm using with this engine (for a bit over 7,000km w/72cc bbk), and will continue to use it even though I used 10w40 in the past.
The oil has been recently changed-- within maybe 200km.

Everything would probably still be about the same, except the cops riding those will be harassed by little kids on bikes with training wheels yelling "GET A REAL BIKE!"
They have a bicycle cop or two around town where I live, maybe they should have unicycle cops riding around town dressed like clowns? LOL!
