I put blue Loctite on my license plate bolts so the nuts don't rattle off losing my new plate AGAIN.

John Candy for the win! One of my favorite actors growing up. Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, PT&A, Summer Rental... probably would be able to list 10-15 more solid movies he was in if he was still around today.

Where can you find the white male/female connectors like that anyway? Not at my local hardware stores, at least in the electrical sections unless I missed it. I need to change the connectors coming off my new starter (or harness), but may use something else.

I'm surprised you can even get the boot off of the plug. Maybe the fan shroud is in the way. They seem to fit different on every engine I've had.
Strange. Sounds like a serious design flaw if you can't get the socket in.

Have you tried putting the socket on the spark plug first, and then putting the wratchet on the socket?

I put about 14,500km (9009 miles) in less than 2 years (a few months shy), on my 139qmb engine with the 72cc big bore (aka 80cc)-- full throttle everywhere, including from pretty much every stop sign/light. Maxing out over 45mph (49/17 tranny gears) for quite a stretch everyday to and from work. Until the engine just couldn't handle it anymore.
That's NOT that bad of a thing either. My engine(s) take a beating doing things that aren't what normal 50cc to whatevercc little engines do. Used and abused but for a cheap engine, it's not a bad deal really-- even if I have to either rebuild or buy a new engine every year-and-a-half or two years.

Not sure what your goal is anymore, you weren't happy with 7.5g or the 6.25(?)g rollers and now you want to use 6g sliders? You rpms will be even higher than the 7.5g.

I can't imagine riding with a 50mm with stock gears (I weigh 145-150), my rpms would be screaming at 6.5g rollers for sure, and probably the 7.5g, too.
I tried 7g and 7.5 with the 47mm with stock gears and even then at top speed it got iffy. That's why I did the gears in the first place (besides higher top speed). I'm sure with the 50mm it'd be worse.
For the most part: 39mm I ran 6.5g with stock gears 44mm I ran 7g with stock gears 47mm I ran 7.5g with stock gears 47mm I use 6.5g or 6g with 49/17 gears
My new engine has the 47mm (came with it installed) but I haven't weighed the rollers. I guarantee the gears are not stock (for whatever they throw in 50cc) either-- no way, lol. I'll be checking the weight of the rollers and counting the gears teeth here next week.

Even though my 139qmb engine is considered a GY6, when I first got my scooter GY6 was 99% of the time referred to as Chinese engines 125cc and up. It's rarely called GY6 50 in forums either when referring to the 139qmb. I also think wikipedia has changed the description over time.
Parts sellers describe their parts a lot better nowadays than back then. If you were looking for parts for a 50cc it was (and still is, imo) better to search the engine model than type in GY6 (for a 50) or GY6 50cc. Nowadays you can search "GY6 50" and get away with it. I know better, but back then, with a part labeled GY6-- odds are it was for a 125cc and up engine. It just takes a little common sense, but like I said, we have it much better today than 8 years ago-- not only finding parts, but they're labeled and described much better by most places. Ebay is definitely where you need to watch what you do.

Congrats on 25k-- a milestone I'll never hit! I'll be lucky to get over 15k on any 139qmb engine, changing the oil every 650 kilometers. I'd need MOSTLY luck, and some skill, to reach that.

I don't know if it's just me but the quality of the last couple variators I've had seems to be less than before. Especially the inner bushing. I've seen more variator problems in the forums the last year or so than normal. Maybe not though-- I have put quite a few miles on my variators. I still think the "v" guides and any "play" or metal to metal contact in the backplate and variator are the weak points and can trash a $40 stock variator in no time if you don't catch it. That's why I have yet to try a "performance" variator.
Definitely use extreme caution when mix/matching variator parts, stock or not. That includes the boss, too.

I think the way I worded it was off a bit, sorry.
The little vent at the top of the valve cover had a cap on it for shipping, just like the intake manifold had a plug in it that I had to remove so nothing got into it.
I changed the oil again after taking the cap off of the vent on the valve cover, and the oil went in and out like normal.
I guess they had a cap over the vent to help prevent oil loss or to keep debris out-- oil still was all over when I first opened the box anyway, which isn't the first time.
Yeah the hose is connected now to where the cap was on the vent at the top of the valve cover. I did that before I even started it. Obviously I should've done that before changing the oil.
Then I finally took it for a spin to the gas station to get some "food" for a snack.

That's what it was, the little stoppercover on the valve cover breather needed removed. Silly me...
