ok well it actually did fire up at first then slowly died. will not restart. The drain screw is tight. side question.. my old carb had a post for i think overflow on the bottom which is not there on this carb. it is where the drain screw on this one is. and there was a hose attached to the carb next to that screw where there was nothing on my old carb.

My top speed is about 50mph on flat road with no wind. I am only about 160 lbs but often ride with a backpack full of school books and laptop. I havent touched the CVT yet because of a stuborn variator nut but I have done all of the mods in my signature. Stock or what I believe to be stock (as i did not buy it new) it went about 35-40 but didnt have a whole lot of power or acceleration.

I recently purchased a new carb because old one was just somewhat falling apart and i figured with all of my other upgrades the 20mm opening would help with performance. i have been riding it around a lot lately with really no problems but upon installing the new car. with the same jets i had in the other. it will not start. sounds like it wants to but will never actually turn over.

ok guys this could be complicated to explain. Upon receiving my scoot, the electric start wasn't working ($350 purchase price). I took it to someone who said they had it hooked up backwards. I believe that it is wired to "work" but isnt the stock setup. the button was a different one so i assume someone along the line rigged it somehow. I replaced the button and I followed the wires. One goes to what i think is the starter solenoid. (round thing two large red wires coming out and this small wire) The second wire goes to a plug and on the other end of this plug there is a wire missing. ( you can see where it was cut). I guy i took it too said he fixed it and i saw with my own eyes it working. After getting back home it would not work for me and i assumed it was the battery because it was a small battery (4L). Also assumed this because after riding the scoot a lot every now and then the ES would work. I upgraded battery to a 7L, which should be plenty of power and still nothing. Side not-- There is an empty female plug in the vicinity of the solenoid and other plug. not sure if that is relevant

So i have recently done tons of work and upgrades to my 50cc scoot and it seems to be running well, maybe a tad bit rich. However it is between 50 and 65 degrees and will soon be up in the 80s and 90s so i was wondering if i need to down jet my carb. Perhaps an ? My specs are in my signature. Thanks

its more of a stutter i guess stumbling would make sense but at the top end it feels like a little of both like it will jump and then die down and sounds like it wants a higher gear. I will check the plug in a little and let you know. My goal for the bike would be a happy medium. I live in boise idaho so it doesnt need to have a huge top end but it would be nice to sprint between lights.

I have recently uprgaded many things on my 50cc chinese scooter. My specs are in my signature. I realize that carb tuning and part combinations are based greatly and can varely between rider and scooter but i was just wondering if i can get some help on where to start or go next. I have a stock carb jet(dont know size) a jet and soon to arive is a jet. I also have the stock variator weights, 5 gram weights and weights that came with my big bore kit(not completely sure what they are but im sure they are somewhere in between. I can find out exactly what they are if needed.) I am kind of stumped because i cant get the combo right and i also think i might need a smaller idle jet becaues at idle on the center stand i can turn the a/f screw all the way in and she keeps running. granted it could be the electric choke that is doing this but i have left it running long enough to where that shouldnt matter. at WOT it bogs a lot and has slow acceleration as well as hesitation through idle to WOT. Cant get my variator nut off to try different combos of weights but if i need to change them i will get it done. Thanks guys

That is interesting, maybe i should have just left stuff stock because i had a gps confirmed 45mph haha. but i feel like it will perform a little better once its correctly tuned. might just have to leave it to the professionals. if i can find one. thanks for all your help btw

bought it from a local owner. its a 2008 magnum 50RL. not sure if this is right because the magnum sticker on the stock body was spelt "magnum" so it could be something else haha. as far as i can tell its a Gy6 139QMB. all parts ive gotten for it are that and they are direct bolt on. If you need a specific spec i may know it as well.

well all stock i was getting 45mph and better acceleration. I cant seem to tune the carb to perfect running speed. a buddy has the same mods and almost same scooter and his pulls upwards of 50mph. Ive half tempted to find a shop. I have a jet and stock jet(dont know what it is). Also have 5 gram rollers, rollers that came with bbl(unknown weight) and the stock weights. I think i need a new drive belt as well but i cant get my variator nut off for the life of me to do any cvt modifications. hopefully the shop can sort all of this out. Not so much work as it is knowledge and knowing what to change. any idea of what places usually charge for tuning like this?
