I drove the scoot and it bogged a little and wouldnt reach top speed, assuming has to do with cvt and carb tuning but after leaving it parked for about an hour it started right up fine but as soon as i went to drive it and opened the throttle all the way, it bogged out as if i wasnt given it any throttle at all, basically stopped running but didnt shut off. Why would this be? I have had a similar issue in my car and it was a bad oxygen sensor.

How long did you let it warm up before you rode it?

If your carb has an Enricher, when the motor is cold the DEFAULT of the ENRICHER is to feed it extra fuel for cold starts. Now the ENRICHER feeds a lot of fuel so if you try to open the throttle before the ENRICHER starts to shut off the EXTRA fuel which is anywhere from 3-5 minutes you will flood the motor and it will bog on you. If you start it up and wait at least 3 minutes and start off easy by the time you get down the block it will take the opening of the throttle wide open. If it still doesn't then you need to adjust your Fuel Ratio Mixture on the carb. Alleyoop

ok so it only sat for like a minute, i am not sure if it has an enricher but i dont believe so, I actually drove it to school and it did this all the way home, had to basically ride it in the bike lane because it would only go 25 if i pulled any more throttle it would basically die. felt like the motor wasnt running at all until i dropped the throttle back a little.
No idea if this has to do with anything but my kill switch isnt killing the engine either

Is that a 4 stroke or 2 stroke motor? Alleyoop

ok yes, also known as an electric choke? anyways i do feel this upon startup but it tends to die down and idle normal after a minute or less. Also, before all of this happened the scoot was not running right. it would not pull great acceleration and would only go 40mph which is obviously wrong with all of the upgrades and it feels like it wants to pull more but then doesn't

Getting to 40mph is pretty good for a 4 stroke with mods. Stock they are only good for30-35mph.
So the problem is your opening it up at wide open throttle when the ENRICHER is still feeding fuel. And yes after 3-5 minutes it will shut off the extra fuel.
As for the top end speed it take quite a bit to get them to go into the 40mph range. For what you have on it, it may be all that she wrote. Alleyoop

well all stock i was getting 45mph and better acceleration. I cant seem to tune the carb to perfect running speed. a buddy has the same mods and almost same scooter and his pulls upwards of 50mph. Ive half tempted to find a shop. I have a jet and stock jet(dont know what it is). Also have 5 gram rollers, rollers that came with bbl(unknown weight) and the stock weights. I think i need a new drive belt as well but i cant get my variator nut off for the life of me to do any cvt modifications. hopefully the shop can sort all of this out. Not so much work as it is knowledge and knowing what to change. any idea of what places usually charge for tuning like this?

What model is the scoot so I can pull up the specs on it? Or the link where you bought it. Alleyoop

bought it from a local owner. its a 2008 magnum 50RL. not sure if this is right because the magnum sticker on the stock body was spelt "magnum" so it could be something else haha. as far as i can tell its a Gy6 139QMB. all parts ive gotten for it are that and they are direct bolt on. If you need a specific spec i may know it as well.

Here it is notice it says 45KM/H that is only 29mph. Like I said if it does real 40 U.S mph that is fantastic stock it only has 2.3 hp. That is interesting, maybe i should have just left stuff stock because i had a gps confirmed 45mph haha. but i feel like it will perform a little better once its correctly tuned. might just have to leave it to the professionals. if i can find one. thanks for all your help btw
