So I'm almost embarassed to say this, but I don't have a lot of engine experience and everything that I'm doing to my new scooter is based off of this forum and YouTube videos, not experience of sound, smell, etc. That being said, help me properly learn the process for tuning my scoot! You'll see all the parts that I replaced in my signature, and I get my roller kit today. I've adjusted idle screws and a/f screw, etc. but what is the proper process, what am I looking for? I usually just make sure my idle is at 2000 rpm, but I know there is more to it than that. Please help! Eager to learn!

In the meantime, I drilled. There was a metal end cap with 3 screws, so I just drilled through the screw holes with a 1/8" Dremel bit. I can plug each hole with a screw, or put the whole cap back on, so it seemed like a worthy mod. Metal cap: cl.ly/image/2B11131N1Y1bScrew holes: cl.ly/image/0V0r2P1r0J0XAir is definitely coming out of the holes, but I don't think it's significantly louder. I noticed that my RPMs increased off the line, and I may have gotten better acceleration.

With all the exhaust talk lately, I've been thinking about replacing mine. I'm looking at you pros out there. I need help finding something on eBay or elsewhere that won't blow up, ideally in black or carbon fiber, that you can confidently say will fit on my scoot. Good luck and thanks in advance!

I don't really need it as I work from home. It's another toy for me

There was no spacer washer by my variator, and it's not the CDI, so maybe the exhaust now? I'll have to check. I doubt 4g will do anything for me, and higher doesn't sound right either.

Might need to clean your carb and inspect it, the valve could be stuck

Ok, so I took out the rollers and weighed them. 5g stock!
I guess I will get the roller kit, but what should I be looking for here if I'm already at 5g and I can't get over 6000 rpm with my current mods?

I bought the Kawasaki 12v DC Impact Wrench, blue threadlock glue, and a 17mm socket. Everything came off and went back on easily. Thanks guys!

Give me your best tips. I don't have a lot of tools and cheap is always better.
I've heard about using 2 wrenches, jamming something in the cogs, etc.
I also read that you can get one for $20 but have not found that deal anywhere.

I'm thinking about tapering the forward sides of my seat to be narrower. It's not covering the compartment, just hanging over, so I could probably just trim the plastic and pull in the existing vinyl.
Is it a bad idea to try to use real leather or something a step up from vinyl?

From my understanding, if I do a bbk, then I won't fall under the 49cc law in Florida to not need insurance. Is that correct or is there no way for them to know? I was planning on keeping it as stock 49cc as possible and upgrading everything around it for best performance.

Anyone ever try to use any RainX products? I think they have wipes for anti-fog too.
