Thanks, Yea, I think the last time I tried to do too much too quick. Not a good idea. That was a lesson I won't forget. "Take it easy?" You got that right brother! ;D

So does this mean you are actually going to ride it soon? How's the shoulder? Hey Rob, Thanks for asking. Well I've still not returned to work. My next doc. appointment is on the 18th of July. He'll likely clear me to go back to work. The big test is the physical agility test that I'm required to take each year. The shoulder feels fine to walk around with, but if I have to use it for strength, there's nothing there. I can't even do one push up. The muscle is not able to support my weight. That being said, I should be able to pass where using my legs are applicable..squats, running, climbing ladders...etc. Your question is "all about the ride" Well tomorrow I once again will attend the MSF class. Tomorrow is just classroom work, starting at 6pm. Sat and Sun they start at 7am and go to 2pm....That's to avoid the heat as much as we can. This time I decided to use their scooter instead of one of their motorcycles. Less coordination required on my part. ;D I had hoped to use the Burgman, but I have yet to get it back. I've yet to register it or get insurance too. I suppose I could do all that tomorrow and hope I get the bike back before I have to leave for the class. Anyway, that's the update. Pray for me that I don't have to go through this all over again! Dan

Thanks for your reply's. Here's an update. About a month or so ago I took the right side of the bike down, so I could take the wheel off and have a dealer switch out the new and old tire on the rim. I figured I'd save a few bucks if I did most of the work myself. I had taken everything off all the way down to the collar of the wheel. There are two collars one on each side of the swing arm. The one closest to the tire was stuck...The tire wouldn't come off. So I put everything back together and on Saturday I put it on the trailer and took it to a Suzuki dealer. I got a call this morning from a woman who works in he service area. She said to me the "Axle is froze" I called them again later on and asked for a status report. They said they finally got the wheel off. Then it occurred to me that's what they meant by "Axle is froze" The axle wasn't froze, the collar was stuck! I knew that! In fact I told them that on Saturday I told them to expect that. Anyway, long story short, I'm sure the axle is fine. It was the collar they were having the issue with. She told me it was rusted and they'd clean it. Attachments:

Hey guys and gals..
I posted on here several months ago an issue i was having regarding moving the rear tire on my Burgman 400. Long story short, I brought it to the dealer and they're now telling me that the axle is frozen.
Anyone out there can help me what I should expect as far as repairs and expense?
Thanks Dan

[replyingto=ridecheap]ridecheap[/replyingto]Thanks RC
I've watched many of his video's. He's given me lots of confidence to do my own do-it-yourself repairs.You'll notice if you watch his video on removing the rear tire, after he takes the swing arm off, he easily slides the tire off it's axle. I anticipated the same thing when I got to that point... No..I ran into a snag...the tire didn't come off as it did for him. I've whack it dozens of times with a rubber mallet..I've used WD40 to loosen it up....so far it hasn't budged. Others have offered their solution which I have yet to try.
Thanks for posting.

Suggestion: try PB Blaster rather than WD-40. It's a far superior lubrcant/penetrant. I tired to Google it. Amazon seems to be the only place that it's available. Do you know a retailer who sells it? Thanks on advance Danno

[replyingto=sylvrekat]SylvreKat[/replyingto] So does this mean that you're all healed up and riding that "new" scoot? I've been wondering how it's been going for you. >'Kat Nope...I'm still healing. My doctor says it'll take between 6-12 months. I'm just keeping busy and preparing the bike for when the time comes. The rear wheel definitely needs a change. I don't know how the previous owner past inspection, which he got right before he sold it to me. I do sit on it from time to time making the vrooomm noises ;D

[replyingto=danno]danno[/replyingto]Came across this image. I'm going to attempt to add some WD40 and then try and whack the tire with a rubber mallet from the opposite side to see if it loosens up

I would just call the DMV if possible, get it from the horses mouth .. DX My best advice is if your state allows the use of a scooter and that's what you intend to ride.....then that's what you should use. Once you gain more and more confidence with the scooter, you then can decide if you even want to ride a motorcycle....but by then, you may not even want to

Update.
I've figured out why the wheel isn't coming off. The inner "collar" is still on the axle...it's stuck...I mean it won't budge.
Any ideas how I can overcome this? Danno
