Thanks BH! You're just a "little" north of me. I'm just outside of Houston. Every day is a new learning experience, I hope that never changes.

It doesn't have to make sense wade through all 124 pages if you like Sorry, didn't intend on causing a controversy. Not being an everyday player, I just assumed like most games, this one had a rules that made sense. Carry on.

Thank you Paul. It did stop raining. I just got back from my 2nd run and things went a lot smoother than yesterday. Still not ready for the open road yet, but I definitely saw improvements from yesterdays ride. Turns were a lot smoother and I felt more comfortable at about 35mph. It is a sub-division after all. I still want to gain more confidence in my abilities before I take it out into traffic.

Well it's been a long road traveled and I didn't even leave the neighborhood. ;D It was back in January that I decided to become part of "The Ride" At 53, I had never ridden a motorcycle or scooter in my life, but, the call to be on two wheels was tugging at me. I took the safety course only to hit the front break too hard causing me to visit the emergency room. Long story short, it's taken me 6 months to heal. I'll be returning to work on Wednesday. In the meantime, the Burgman 400 I bought back in February remained under my car port looking pretty but not ridden. Yesterday I took it for it's maiden voyage around my sub-division. Took some getting used to. It's a pretty heavy bike for a newbie like me. Making solid left and right hand turns for was my challenge. A little shaky still....not ready for prime time yet, but with a little time and practice, I'm confident I'll get there. Sort of reminds me when I was 16 or 17 and first learning to handle a car. It's a learning process that shouldn't take too long. It's raining again today, so I'll just have to wait. Dan

I noticed you posted earlier so I assume there were no ER visits this time but did you pass?? No, I posted after I got home from the ER! Just kidding Yes! I passed. I will be gone all this week, however. My brother-in-law who is the youth minister at our church text me last week saying he need men for Youth Camp this week. I've done it before and it can be a time of rest and relaxation , if you can call being with dozens and dozens of young people relaxing! Link...Since I'm a volunteer, it's all free. www.laketomahawk.org/amenities.htmI plan on insuring then registering my bike next week after I get back. I then plan on riding around my sub-division here for at least a couple of weeks or 100 miles which ever comes first. ;D Then I'll set out slowly on a Sunday Morning when it's real quiet and take on the major road that runs in our town. It's a 50 mph speed limit. I just plan on taking it slow and resist the temptation of doing more than I'm capable of doing. I think I read somewhere that the majority of motorcycle accidents happen with in the first 6 months of a riders experience. I'm going to do my best not to be a part of that statistic.

not sure, having 17,000 miles and being 10 years old makes me a little nervous. I'd listen to your instincts. If you end up shelling out a bunch of money for a problem the seller "didn't know about" you'll never forgive yourself. But there's no harm in making him a low ball offer of $700-$800, and then see what he says. If he says no, which he likely will, you weren't going to buy it anyway. Best negotiators are those who let the seller know they're willing to walk away from the deal. Another one will come along.
