[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]Thanks sailracer, that's very reassuring! I'm using 5.5g roller equivalent right now, so I should be fine. According to google conversion I put 2oz worth in there. so I only doubled the amount I'm supposed to put. Thanks for putting the website's recommendation. Today I tried another speed run and I can only get up to 48 downhill. Seafoam does wonders for top speed

[replyingto=justin010304]justin010304[/replyingto]Very good games that features a scooter. I believe it was only Vice City and maybe San Andreas that featured a scooter, but they were all intended to mock scooters themselves. The scooter's name was the "Faggio" and it went barely half the speed of the other cars. The sole reason for the scooter to exist in that game was as a sort of handicap for the pizza delivery missions...
Love the games though. Grand Theft Auto 1, 2, 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and IV are all available on PC as far as I'm aware.

Anybody know of any games featuring scooters, or even mopeds for PC? I've been playing Saints Row The Third and in it there is a vehicle called "The Widowmaker" and it's a typical retro style scooter (designed quite like a vespa). There are garages in the game you can go to in order to increase durability, acceleration, torque, and you can add nitro to your vehicles, haha. Right now my red widowmaker is maxxed out and I'm getting bored with driving around steelport (the fictional city in the game). So, does anybody know some good cycle games? I'm about to try a demo of MotoGP 13, but the youtube videos didn't look that good...

When I had 63ccs with a free flow filter I used an jet, you could probably get away with a smaller one such as 82 or 80.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]That's interesting, Tom. I'm pretty sure I put too much seafoam For some reason I've been putting a quarter cup in there, but that can't be the right measurement, not sure why I ever thought it was... I think a quarter cup is something like double the amount I'm supposed to put in there, haha. I read somewhere that the combustive properties of seafoam aren't quite as good as the gasoline so it can lower the rpms by a little bit. But overall it increases performance.

[replyingto=desmerwebb]PCB_GY6%27n[/replyingto]I have yet to adjust my own needle because it doesn't seem to need adjusting yet, I've got no bogging, popping, backfiring, or vrapping so I've only inspected my needle. Oldchopperguy posted an excellent tutorial on raising the needle here: scooterrebels.proboards.com/thread/187/raising-carb-needle-pix?page=1P.S. How did you know my display name is spelled with an Upsilon?

51.79mph downhill with 3 4g 3 9g weights. 45+ on flats. ;D
ALMOST 35mph uphill, man do I need a new torque spring...
EDIT: There's a variable in comparing to my previous top speed of 58mph with 9g weights and that is I put Seafoam in the tank for this last speed run. I did speed runs with 9g before and after the seafoam and with seafoam I seem to lose about 4mph, but that's to be expected.

I think I'm gonna try my old setup again. It can't be as bad as six 3g weights on a 50cc, and six 4g weights was one of my favorite setups anyway. So three 4g and three 9g can't kill my scooter, I don't think. Just 3 9g sliders was probably my favorite setup, equaling 4.5g in slider weight. Right now my average max speed downhill is 54mph (with 58mph being the highest ever attained) and I can't quite hit over 41mph on flats unless there's an incline to assist me. I can 'maintain' around 45mph after going downhill, but I can't achieve that. Also, uphill my max speed is around 30mph, and I just can't have that. Scooterworks sells a variator weight tuning kit for 150cc scooters which includes the minimum of 6g roller weights which means something around 6g should be the minimum for an 81cc bbk scooter. So, I'm going with 6.5 slider equivalent weight for a test run in a little bit, once my bike cools off to change the weights. Unless someone here insists that I don't try it If it revs too high I guess I'll put my old variator back on until I can get some 7-8g sliders, or a variator tuning kit.

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]MP4 is usually video. The Chinese, and other companies, like to put things like "MP4" or "MP5" on their radios and such because some people assume "oh wow! MP4 that must be better than MP3!", but it's not. It's just another encoding method. MP5 file format doesn't even exist, but you see it marketed on certain things.

So I toyed with variator weights a lot with 63ccs and found that I liked either 4g or 5.5g roller weight equivalent, 9g was too heavy, 6.5g wasn't accelerating enough, etc.
Now that I got my bbk I initially used 3 4g and 3 9g dr pulley slider weights and I found that to be a perfect setup. Acceleration was really quick and I could hit 51mph on flats. Now I've got the Koso Variator I upped it to 9g slider weights. My acceleration is "smooth"er than ever, but it's not as quick as it was with my 6.5g slider setup.
What is a safe range of variator weights for an 81cc bbk with a performance variator? Is it safe to go back to 3 4g and 3 9g weights or will that over rev my engine?
And for that matter, I could use a good cheap tachometer, anyone got a lead on one?

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]Yup. Some metal shavings is normal, copious amounts of shavings means something is horribly wrong. I think this counts for breaking in any engine, but having no metal shavings is probably the best

Very little amount of metal bits. There were more the first time I changed the oil and some of it was shavings. This time it's just some tiny metal chips and there's only so many that they all fit on my finger tip. Most of that crud in the oil is stuff that either came out of the filter or mostly what fell from the trees as I changed the oil and let the pan sit there to cool off. No worries there.

At 300 miles phase one of two of my bbk break in is complete! So I did my second BBK Oil change today. I hit 300 miles total on the bbk and everything is going great imo. After upjetting and getting the uni there's a noticable difference in just about everything, torque, acceleration, overall power and performance. My MPG seems to have suffered of course but I haven't measured the before and after so all I can do is guess. I think my variator weights might be limiting me because I can no longer go over 45mph on flats ever since I got the koso variator and swapped to 9g weights, I think I could stand to go down to 8 or 7, but I'm still not sure of the safe range of weights for a koso variator and bbk. I dumped the oil from my last oil change into a coffee container and took it to the local oil change place and they got rid of it for me for free. While doing so I noticed all the metal shavings that I've been looking for this whole time. It appears that there was some metal shavings from my 100 mile oil change, just not a lot and I couldn't pick them up with a magnet (even though the inside of my cylinder wall reacts to magnets ) I'll be taking pictures of the oil and metal bits in a little bit. ;D
