Sorry been busy with things but found the problem. It was a short in one of the plugs off harness. Had a mech friend come and trouble shoot it for me. For some reason the plug melted and shorted the wires inside. Funny thing is that this also fried the battery. Plug and battery replaced and all is good. As far as a second fuse box goes, I haven't been able to find one anywhere and I've had all the plastics off all the way from handle bars to tail lights.

Hey all got a problem thats bugging me and looking for a little help. Went for a ride last week just cruising the area. After getting out of the city and opening her up a bit I heard a loud pop that I thought was just a rock bouncing off the bottom of the bike. Bike continued to ride fine so I carried on enjoying the fall weather here in NY. Stopped for gas and after I hit the kill switch and the motor died it was totally quiet. Usually I hear the radiator fan running til I turn the key off. Fueled up and went to hit the start button and nothing happens. No starter, no lights, no gauges. Got a jump start and got her home but was too dark to do any trouble shooting. Rained all week end so finally got a break today to check things out. Checked battery 12.6 v so good, fuse at battery good ( put a meter to it ) good, pulled starter relay and put power to it with meter across terms and it popped and had continuity so good. Replaced R/R about 2 months ago because of charge issue so skipped that for now. When I pulled the wires from the starter relay I also put a meter across the plug and hit the starter button and showed good. So after all this I'm thinking key switch may be bad so tomorrow tearing front apart to get to it for probing. Anything else you guys think I should take a look at? Bike is a 2007 Lance Duke 250 with about 3200 miles. Thanks for any and all help.

Last year I listed my Angel 50 on craigs list. After a few tire kickers a young kid comes to look at it. I showed how everything works and he says he needs to think about it and will call me tomorrow. About 2 hrs later he sends me a text about the price, a few texts later its sold and he comes the next day with cash in hand. He shows up no helmet and in shorts! With sells him her extra helmet. So I suit up and show him how everything works again. Off we go towards his house. About 2 miles down the road he pulls over and I'm thinking whats wrong? He has the biggest grin on his face and says hes having the best time riding ever. Ask him if he can make it home on his own. He says hes good and off he goes. Will always remember the look on his face and thinking he has the bug.

I ride mostly for transport (to and from work) but love to get out and just roam around the city. Started with a 50 cc last year and moved to 250 cc this year. Wife did the same but doesn't ride to work. I don't really need a reason to ride, I just get out there when I can because the season is too short here in New York not to ride when you can. Been down for the last 2 weeks because of surgery and its killing me. Went out just to start and let my baby run for a bit to get the oil and gas flowing through everything. Going to try riding Monday to doctors if weather is good.

Me and the wife bought 50 cc's last year and it really wasn't fast enough to keep up with city traffic or long rides to the country. This year we moved up to 250's and are having a blast roaming everywhere. I use mine to commute and joy ride, hers is mostly joy riding but she has taken it to work a few times. Gonna hate putting it away for the winter. Both in mid forty so I can agree with danno about the mid life crisis because the kids just laugh when we go out for a ride.

Could be the temp sensor for the fan. Had a similar problem. You could short the wires coming off the sensor to see if the fan stays on while riding. That should keep the fan running but is also a drain on your electrics. Sensor for mine was $10 from scrappydogscooters. Also another thought. If you cooked the thermostat, it would stay open or closed but shouldn't effect the fan. So my thinking is the thermostat is fine.

Just a thought but maybe the fuel line came off the tank or carb. Could also be a broken fuel line. You won't know til you take off the plastics.

Time for update. Sorry its been so long but works been busier then heck gearing up for the 4th. Called scrappy and got the R/R. Only took 3 days. Very helpful on phone and made sure it was in stock. Charged battery on trickle. Had to cut one of the plugs off the R/R because someone had cut the one off the wiring harness. Butted and sealed wires and reinstalled battery. Scoot now starts and all lights work as they should. Also took out that switch that was on the negative off the battery. Seems to hold a charge no problem. Wife and I scooted down to the boat harbor here in Buffalo tonite and other than a few rattles all is good. Hope everyone has a good 4th and stay safe out there.

OK time for update. Waited a week and a half to get temp sensor from scrappy. Called them up and whoever took my order never put it in the system so I cancelled the order. Was not a happy camper to say the least. Ordered again from Ebay and it was waiting today when I got home from work. Installed sensor and cleaned up battery connections, reinstalled battery and she fired right up. Decided it was time for a test ride so put all the plastics back on and suited up. Man did it feel good to be back on 2 wheels. Now to find that charging bug. Engine off and at idle Voltmeter reads 12.3 or so but when I run the engine up ( no tach, about half throttle ) it only goes to 12.4 or 12.5. Also the previous owner has a kill switch on the negative lead off the battery. If I turn it off when bike parked it has enough juice left to start bike but if left on it kills the battery dead. Thinking a drain somewhere but where to start? And this person used a wall switch for the kill . So question what do i check in charging circuit and how? Charging should be about 14 volt i thought not 12.5. After I get all this done I still need to order a new gauge package and surrounding plastics and maybe a body panel or two because a few tabs are busted. Thanks in advance.

I'm with gitsum. Me and the wife both ride 250s and enjoy just going off on our own. We do have clubs by us but never have the correct schedules to ride with them. BTW we are both 46, and enjoy our scoots probably more then the younger crowd.

Nothing worse that having your ride stolen from you but life goes on. Had a disk lock on it so they had to pick it up and cart away but Angel only weighs 200 lbs at most. Plus cars usually have alarms where as most bikes don't.

Bought my first last year Angel 50. Had it 3 months and some one stole it. Replaced it with another Angel. Bought a Lance Duke 250 this year.

Under my seat near the front is the coolant fill, then the battery. Rest is storage and not much of it. Thought I read somewhere it was under front cowling but don't see any way to get in there without ripping whole front apart.

Thanx Gatekeeper was thinking same about the charging issue but can't do anything til sensor comes in. BTW I ordered both was only $25 with shipping. $9. ea so figured I do both. Yeah Fuel filter has to go looks like its probably OEM, all yellow and nasty. Lines look OK. Will do a better look at wiring tomorrow or Friday. Does anyone know if this bike is supposed to have a fuse box? Can't find one. Only main fuse by battery and gonna change that from glass to blade also. Never liked glass fuses even in cars. Thanx again for the help Ed

OK got the plastics off without breaking any. Found the fan wires and it ran when jumped to battery. Found temp sensor and it also ran when jump, so thinking sensor is bad. Ordered sensor at Scrappydogs and it should be here friday or sat. Hopefully back on the road this weekend. Thanx for the Guys. Anyhting else I should check out while the bike is naked?
