Do you ride for any other reason than entertainment, or transportation?
- Meaning, do you sometimes ride just to put miles on your scoot, to use it instead of leaving rusting it in the barn or yard or garage or front door? - Or perhaps ride, even though you just did a long tour very recently and don't feel like riding right now, but ride anyway? - Or ride just because you're bored and even though you don't feel like it, ride anyway? - Or do you sometimes ride for reasons of metering fuel economy, testing out performance upgrades, or any other reason?
What reason you usually have to ride other than enjoyment or entertainment, or because of necessity (transportation)?

Do you ride for any other reason than entertainment, or transportation?.... TherapyI ride in L.A.. Riding is interesting, but is not relaxing. If you want to survive untouched you cannot think about anything than the traffic. Re: Blog entry, July 2, 2008 I asked for help running the wires, the O.C. crew took over the job and made it unusable. Walked in what they did, went back to the office, got on Thumper and rode over 2 hours before I could get my blood pressure low enough to not kill. Still gets my blood boiling. Right thinking about what they did, over 5 years ago, raises my blood pressure 20 points. (I just checked my pressure, still does.)

This is a strange question... I ride
I always ride, for any reason, for no reason, for imaginary reasons, and sometimes for reasons unimaginable. It's like breathing, do you ever breathe for any reason other than respiration or speaking? How do you answer that yes, maybe, sometimes, and definitely...

howdy, this is a silly reason; just to make my service interval coincide with the weather imposed slack time--- D8
i moved to this area recently and there is a major construction of the nearest freeway interchange so i'm riding some just to familiarize myself with alternate ways to go to my frequent destinations. riding some just because a friend wants to go take some tools back to his former employer. then he showed me the back roads home.
does that provide some answers to your silly question--- ((*
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Most of my riding is recreational, as I am between jobs right now and I'm seeking to go back to art school or do art and sell. So I do ride to do errands and I do ride when its nice out and weekends especially. I like riding down to Atlanta in the city to see whats going on. Lately I've been checking out peidmont park down there. I'll ride down, find somewhere to park near the park and do a lap around the park, jogging or walking. I need the exercise!

I ride not only for fuel economy measurments, and seeing how the bike responds to different types of gas, I also ride to think. While riding, I'm thinking about a lot of things, including sprockets and cheap mods, as well as future motorcycle purchases.
I also ride the crap out of some of my vehicles just to post here when the darn thing finally gave up the ghost.
That being said, most of the time I'm easy on the throttle. I prefer cruising over racing, and good fuel economy numbers. Also racing will wear out engine, brakes, and other parts much faster.
So cruzin' it is!

I ride to save on gas, and to save my wagon.
And when I ride, I think about a lot of things too--the cars next to me, the cars at the intersection I'm approaching, the car in front of me, the car behind me, the manhole covers, the wet roads from the median sprinklers, that big pothole before Pflumm (going to work).... Although I do have a song of the day for stoplights. (X)

I think about a lot of stuff when I ride, but I TRY to think about the ride and get my mind off other things. It makes me feel good!

I have a van that I use to go camping because I take a lot of stuff and people camping. Other than that, even in the rain, I ride. Within the parameters of the question, though, sometimes the choice of riding the 250 scooter or the FJ1200 is made based on which one I haven't ridden in several days. The scooter gets hard to start if I haven't ridden it for more than 4 or 5 days. But if I ride the scooter all week, I feel that I should fire up the big bike just to get the oil up into the engine and keep the moving parts moving, so I try to get it out a couple of times a week.

I ride mostly for transport (to and from work) but love to get out and just roam around the city. Started with a 50 cc last year and moved to 250 cc this year. Wife did the same but doesn't ride to work. I don't really need a reason to ride, I just get out there when I can because the season is too short here in New York not to ride when you can. Been down for the last 2 weeks because of surgery and its killing me. Went out just to start and let my baby run for a bit to get the oil and gas flowing through everything. Going to try riding Monday to doctors if weather is good.

Yeah, I also ride to explore the neighborhood, to discover new roads, to know which stores are where. Not always am I looking for beautiful nature spots, but sometimes I'm looking to see where I can find what store or mall.

I frequently hop on for a short ride to log break-in miles on a route that doesn't require too much throttle. I also believe in riding once a week no matter how busy you are to keep it running good.

THIS Along with economy and the other usuals of course Endorphin flows when I ride... also those brisk morning rides to work sure wake me up well. Also, on the scooter, I can scope out both lanes of the coffee hut in the morning and quickly swoop in to the shortest line since I can squeeze through places cars can't.
