Just thought I'd post that obviously I survived the double-foot surgery.
I am currently confined to bed-bathroom-bed only 'til my followup Tues. Got a surgery bootie on each foot. Ditched the pain meds 'cause they made me sick to throwing up all Sat. Pain is preferable to that!
I now have a boring six weeks of homeboundness to anticipate. Whee. And no scooting 'til next spring. See? This is why my poor Peej has so few miles on him.

Hi Kat, glad your surgery went well, I never liked taking pain meds either but at times they're necessary. Stay in touch with forums and computer friends, it helps pass the time and people will enjoy hearing from you.

Indeed, Marijuana is concidered a gateway drug, IN Fact, % of addiction is caused because of perscription " Pain Killers " If your having Neurological pain, that's a different beast altogether but the meds are even more harsh.... Causing bad dreams or Night Terrors. Sorry for the rant..... PLEASE, PLEASE stop by here EVERY DAY !!!!!!!!!!!! Just to let us all know your OK. Maybe have a quick laugh but, above all else, know your welcome and cared about.

Thank you, my wondrous friends.
No worries about not following all dr's orders. I figure I spent that much of my own money, and who-knows how stupid-much of my insurance's money, I am NOT about to pooch things by ignoring his orders.
"Not ONE step without the booties on!"
Heck, I'd wear one green sock if that was his order. Except this time that would be hard 'cause both feet are big right now. Last time (10 years ago) only one got sliced.
What's hardest is feeling fine except for some pain, but having to stay in bed. BOR-ring! I watched the last six eps of Zoo (very good show btb), watched some Rat Patrol that's my bro's b'day prezzie (and not a very good show, quite silly in fact, and incredibly slowly paced considering I fast-forwarded most non-talking bits and it was much more watchable). Next is Voltron (the lions version) set 1. And some series a friend loaned about someone moving to France for a year.

Glad to hear the surgery went well, and wish you a speedy recovery That will give you a chance to learn a new song or two, movies and series marathons are good ways to fast forward the boredom, I canceled my Netflix subscription after I got off the bed when I was recovering from my surgery, there was nothing else worth watching, I watched everything! I also suggest learning a new language or skill online, it helped me improve my Portuguese and HTML5 skills

Just got back from the dr.
He's pleased with how my feet are doing. Told me to keep using my crutches. It's ok to do more, but try to keep to no more than 20-25% of what I did before. Which of course was 8 hours on my feet. I think I'm better off than someone with a sit-down job instead.
I go back next Tues to get the stitches out. Yay!
And now I'm ready to rest. After so little activity since Thurs, I'm tired.

Btb ricardo, how long were you stuck in the bed for your leg? Probably makes my whining sound really petty.

Btb ricardo, how long were you stuck in the bed for your leg? Probably makes my whining sound really petty. >'Kat First time, a couple of weeks, I got the surgery a week after the accident; last time just a day! I got the surgery right away and was walking with the crutches the day after the surgery, put away the crutches the 3rd day when I got the bandages removed. The first time it took longer because the leg was swollen because of the body rejecting the rod I got installed, the second time the body didn't flight the rod.

Sorry you had to go thru the pain of surgery, 'Kat. Take your time and let them heal good before you terrorize the streets again.

Currently lying here pre-sleep with the booties beside me! Yes, the dr gave his permission to remove the booties for sleep.
My feet are very happy right now. We'll see if that lasts through the night....

Are you going to get some " special made " shoes? I don't mean a new pair of Nike's but, are you going to need custom fitting shoes at some point? Or, Are you able to use normal store bought shoes from now on? Just curious, I know pressure point relief is VERY importaint. Anyways, The Strippers should be there around 5 AM... They were instructed to help you shower..... Make sure you have some shampoo and conditioner ready, Bodywash is optional Keep your chin and toes Up !!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!
