Love these videos, but a common problem with scooter videos is they don't show the actual work being done. Description and talk through, then cut to a finished install of the part, no showing the tricks used to actually put the parts together. Most likely it's due to the difficulty of holding a camera, just my own little pet peeve.

FYI: the FedX truck holding the engine hostage is now only 87 miles away ... though they are still saying it will be a Wednesday delivery

Martin's had the camera on a tripod and showed the process, almost without a break. Unless I didn't correctly understand your comment ....

I would disagree, It's not done until we see video of the first ride I hope all goes well, The riding season is ending for a lot of folks but, Until that engine is mounted, Broke in and, running smooth with the transmission.... you're far from done IMO Simply showing videos of how to replace Brake pads/ Tensioner/ Gears, Etc.... Does NOT make a running scooter IMO. All the parts need to work together and provide reliable/ predictable situations......... Until YOU are riding the scooter, Reliably, without any issues, It's not finished. JMHO but, sometimes a project is never really done---- Something else can always be improved... I wish you Well and, Good Luck on all your future rides........

Can't wait for the test results . Dmartin over at www.dansgaragetalk.com def knows his stuff . What gears does everyone think rcq should go with. I'm leaning towards 17:36 gears due to his 10" wheels and the 190cc's . I'd like to know how much HP this engine is going to put out!

I am running 16\38 gears on my 171CC fully tuned on 10" wheels and I lost acceleration and have not gained top speed. I need more HP, I am assuming the 20cc more on RCQ would do the trick, so I would recommend using 16\38 and do not go any higher. I actually just ordered 14\37 for my scooter. Stock was 13\40

For everyone's info, what we really are shooting for in selecting gear sets is the ratio, and there are a number of ways to get to the same ratio. This chart shows the resulting ratio for some popular gear sets. \ 14/37, 16/42 and 18/48 all give you just about the exact same ratio (approx 2.65 to 1). Anyone know if it's better to have a smaller diameter counter shaft gear (the smaller one)?

rcq92130, the smaller the first number the better the take off should be, or you need less torque to spin the wheels. I would recommend for sure not to go anything higher then 16 and I would personally stay on 15 max from what I know now. To be honest I would have been perfectly happy with my 16\38 gears, but the fact that my buddy on stock gears with all other mods being the same is faster all around is making me recommend to you to stay on a ration close to 2.5 max for you. You will probably hit about 70\75MPH with that
