What grit would I use if I were to attempt it? I'm not good at remembering grits by number but I'd say 200 or 300, to remove some material, then 400 or 600 to smooth it out. A satin finish perhaps at 400, and pretty shiny at 600. You could even polish it but I'm guessing a satin finish would be good. If in doubt, start with a fine paper first. Get as aggressive as you want to in order to remove the blemishes in a reasonable amount of time.

What grit would I use if I were to attempt it? Take the Head to the store were your going to get the Emory cloth, they usually have drawers of diff grits Maybe two diff grits, One grit will do tho to make seal without worry. You can finish with Fine, Wet and make Jewelry. you'll get it

If he can't believe He's advocating it, then it must be good. Maybe he's talking about transforming it from paperweight to running parts... That would be good.

Well with all the problems I've had over the past couple years with the engine I plan to retire soon, I still managed to put over 40k miles on it, so... Maybe they are not racers, and if you don't know how to wrench may leave you stomping your boots as you push your ride home, but they do get you places... lol

I watched the videos of the father and son team go across the US on the scoots,,, good fun,, one was got for a hunster,, my point is if youre serious about riding and performance I would look elsewhere for parts,, a member on this and other forums ( as a matter of fact he just started his own) has a 155cc that will better 80mph,, stock,, and will do 70 all day long,,, you don't get that from Chinese period,, maybe with the bigger stuff ( 250cc+) and I'll put a bet down if you got a real clean body on that 155 and did a final drive change it would be going over 100,,, he also built an engine and put it in a Chinese frame and he's afraid to go over 60 because the chassis isn't up to the task,,, I understand everything has it's limits and you pay for that performance,,, the $34 "kit" isn't where it's at,,, a real piston made by a decent company costs 3 times the kits price,,,

Well I finally got a refund today. The seller stopped communicating when I asked for either an undamaged kit or a refund. so I decided to press the return button on ebay. The seller did nothing, ignored the request so I ended up calling ebay because 2 days after it gave me the option to click to have ebay step in it would not allow me to go to the page, turned out to be a glitch but the people on ebays customer support hotline helped me out. Ebay got the money back from the seller and refunded me and now I have a paperweight that only cost me some time.
I will not be buying from that seller again, or buying any funny name brands ever again... ha learned my lesson, everyone else should learn from me and save themselves the hassle, buy name brand scooter parts or be prepared to deal with complications.

Yeah, for something as essential as engine parts id want something from taiwan. Doesnt gy6racing on ebay have some taiwanese kits? I saw they have a no bore 60mm kit. I like the idea because the skirt wouldnt be as thin as the 61mm drop ins. I think ive heard good things about those kits even if theyre not ncy or taida...can anyone verify this? Whenever my engine reaches old age ill be wanting a 60 or 61mm kit.
