I honestly think this section should be split up into 49cc and 125-200cc. It is hard to help people when most people don't post what size scoot they are talking about. For example, trying to link people to parts and such can't happen easily and jettin is completely different.

Put simple, if they are to dumb to tell us what they are running they are not smart enought to use good advise. I just ignor the fools.
I sort of like the mix. Some sharp guys comming on with 50's. We been mixing for a ling while and I think it works pretty good.
I like all the scoots.

We put them together because I saw that JR had it that way on his forum and I started thinking about it and there are so few differences between the two that it seemed like a natural thing to do. An air cooled motor is pretty much the same across a lot of platforms. Now we did separate the 2 T because there is some major differences there.

That being the case why do you have 250+ separate?
I think that the usage is different for the three classes of scooters under 50cc are basically replacements for the 10 speed bike (OK, I am old), the the 50-249cc are the urban/suburban utility vehicles, and the 250cc are interurban commuter and weekend touring scooters. Many of the <50cc crowd are interested in souping them up to beat the laws that are the only reason the things exist. The <250cc types are interested in things that make their scoots more reliable, and the > 250 crowd seem to be interested in the things that make them more comfortable. At least that was the impression I had from the old board.
On the other hand, I do not see any earthly reason to separate air cooled and water cooled. If many people are bothered about the speed shop type articles, then maybe a separate performance modifications forum is needed.
The thing I think needs thinking about, is dealer ratings. There should be separated forums for parts and accessories, and scooter dealers, then those should be separated out into local dealers (brick and mortar) and web based vendors (if a company does both they should be rated separately for those as quite often a company does great in one venue and rather badly in the other.)
Just some things to think about.

The problem is that the main cc categories change with time and economy.
A while ago, you had the 49cc's, the 125cc's, and the 150cc's.
Now you have the 49, 150, and 250cc's.
I'll be expecting to see more 125cc's out there if the gas prices rise for $1 more or so.
Only recently did you see few scooters getting bigger engines than 250cc. Piaggio, Vespa, Suzuki, Honda, all have scoots above 300cc's (approx 350, 400, 450, 600, and 650cc). Chinese scoots have a separate category, and top out at 300cc's.
And forums are generally more difficult to modify once they've been made (unlike the economy, which can switch between cc's as the flow goes).
I think there should be a separate section for < 50cc's + BBK's (eg: 66-100cc BBK's)
and then 100cc's - 200cc's with BBK. (100cc's found in cross bikes, or DAX type of bikes for instance, 125 ECO scoots, and 150cc's with BBK's; even 200cc's with BBK's upto 250cc).
and a third 250cc's and up. (including the bigger scoots like the burgman 650, or Honda Silverwing, which are a complete different category from the chinese scoots).
There's really not that many scoots above 300cc's, so combining 250 and 300cc's and the higher ones would be a good idea.

One more note while we're talking about it. The banner at the top of the page says "scooters cycles atv's" but I don't see an atv section. Maybe I'm just blind?
