2009 50cc Kymco Agility 4 stroke. Starts and runs ok, generally. Not happy that I have to give throttle to start but it starts up just fine provided a little throttle is given.
The problem I'm trying to fix is that when I come to a stop and want to keep the scoot running when I put it on the side kick stand it stalls out. Even if I just jerk it to the left momentarily when idling it can kill the engine.
Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks!

Have you tried replacing the carb? They are typically very cheap.
And by saying you tilt it to the left it stalls. Does it happen immediately, or after a couple minutes of being stopped?

If you lower the side stand with engine running it kills the spark.

Some do have a side stand kill switch. But I'm curious why it does it when you just jerk it to the side.

I recently had the same issue, for me it turned out the pickup wire from the stator to cdi had become so loose they were only touching by 1 strand of wire, replaced the wire ends with spade terminals and works great now.

It could be that the float is not filling completly up. That means you are not getting the fuel the carb needs. Very common problem on off road trucks when they get at a weird angle, it can mess up the ability for the carb to fuel the engine. I would take the carb off and take the bowl off hold the carb level and when you move the float it should top out the needle when the float is level. I noticed that on our carbs the float tops out when its level. so just make sure the needle is not topping out before the float is level. Just a thought.

Thanks for all your input guys. I really appreciate it. I solved the problem.... I sold the scooter!
I was planning on selling it anyhow. When I realized that a new carb was only $40, I would have just purchased and installed a new one if I was going to keep the scooter. I let the new owner know that too. It runs fine with the exception of this one quirk. Thanks again!
