Hey gang, Can someone recommend a good STOCK replacement for a 150cc GY6 that has a PD24J carb? What exactly I am wanting is a stock 24mm carb, with the highest quality.... By quality, I mean some have screws that are soft as butter and make working on the thing impossible without using screw extractors. Others may have sub-par materials for the float or needle tip, weak diaphragm etc etc.... I am also not wanting to go outside of the stock dimensions. I'm not wanting to add a manual choke and want to use the enricher. Name brand would be nice. Doing my own search, I came across a Keihin 24mm, but I know Keihin is one of the most widely cloned and I don't know how to identify a genuine Keihin. What is the best "stock", PD24J you have came across? |

The Keihin's I have I have been getting good feedback on them for quite some time and they have been coming from the same factory. Here is a picture of it. I can most of the time price match with US sellers. John |

The one John posted looks pretty good of a clone,,grade 8 screws and all from the looks of it.
I have a clone and its been great,,the hardware is really hard with good quality aluminum housing.
Alley told me where to buy it but now I forget,,it took a couple weeks to arrive so Im sure it was china..lol..I paid like $70 for it a few years ago.

Those can be dupe'd, the authentic ones have it on the carb body as well so you cant just say an unmarked carb is a keihin it has to have the mark on the body. |

That's the problem , they are so easy to clone, but at the same time they tend to leave the plunger cap unmarked. |

Not sure about this style of carb but would any of the honda , yamaha , os suzuki scooters come with a carb that would work as you are more likely to get a true quality carb from a dealer , at a more expensive price mind you . But like they say it only takes twice as long and twice the price to do it right the first time

But like they say it only takes twice as long and twice the price to do it right the first time I know we are taking about cloned carbs and what not, but honestly most even clone keihin carbs are good. Another example is , I bought a 32mm pumper carb off of eBay . it also came with a high performance coil and it was only like $35 or so, it may have been a little more but not much . I saw the exact same carb on a buggy site for almost $200 bucks. When I say the same I mean exactly the same . so just because you spend more cash on the carb doesn't mean its better. Also many Kawasaki and other brand name bikes and ATVs come with keihin carbs . many out there that clone these carbs do a great job. If you have a good keihin cast and a good quality control department , then the product will perform just as good. |

There are many standard carburetors in brand of “KEI★HIN” exported to USA is not the Keihin brand owned by Japan Keihin. It is from the company Fujian Youli Carburetor Co., Ltd. It is popular over there just because buyer mistakes it for Japan Keihin.
There was lawsuits between Fujian Youli and Japan Keihin, which can be found on line (http://www.law-lib.com/cpws/cpws_view.asp?id=200401482826)

I've done a great deal of research into the Keihin line-up of carburetors and discovered that a genuine Keihin is pretty easy to identify. It's only got 1 identifier stamp on it  |

Yes, I picked up two from the same seller in the link I provided. I also imported 11 Keihin's from China and got another supposed Keihin in a Complete engine kit I picked up at auction. I don't think any of them are genuine and have started dialogue with Robin Traiber of Keihin and sent her in pictures. She's going to have Keihin tech's examine the pics and will get back to me once their holiday is over. I will let you know what information I get from her. If it turns out that the ones we purchased as genuine are fakes, the seller owes us a refund... The ones I imported from china are the ones with the braided drain line. I knew they were clones when I made the purchase but the price I paid reflected as much. The one I have that is just stamped with a K T and nothing else came in a engine kit... It was listed as Keihin. They only listed the engine came with a carburetor. Anyhow, I am going to speculation to rest. I'm getting my info straight from the horses mouth and update when I get the info.,....    The one with braided hose has stamps all over it    |
