OJ is poison, that's a mass amount of high fructose corn syrup. John that was sarcasm right ? I don't drink the fake stuff , just the real OJ , never from concentrate, like tropicana and simply Orange. read the label (my moms type 2) I eat a boat load of sweets I try to stay away from the high fructose corn syrup. I try to drink juice without extra sweetener, if you don't squeeze it yourself it has sweetener in it. John

When I was up in Pittsburgh at the hospitals I always had on of the big containers of orange juice on me. I got some good remarks about drinking that much orange juice.

geh3333.... You killed me on the battery. I bought it at Walmart, shipped free, and Amazon had the same one for $6 dollars cheaper and the actual battery manufacturers web site had the same thing shipped free for less than $33. That's $12 or a free set of Dr pulley rollers. My bad for not checking. Hope tvnacman hasn't killed me on the price of the CDI. Especially since he writes on these boards and sells parts to us also. geh3333 no bad on your part but I hope tvnacman isn't killing his fellow scooter com padre's on parts suggested on this site. $8 for shipping less than a pound less than 500 miles?
I consider us a band of brothers trying to make chicken soup out of chicken 'stuff ' . That's why we own this hobby because it can be cheap, and I know performance parts can be expensive. I've been a business owner, PALMETTOCW.com for over thirty years, and always took care of my com padre's. A team who pulls together becomes strong and proud. The team with an 'I' in the spelling just tears itself apart and causes bad feelings.
Check out the history or my business. Palmettocw.com. Started on my back porch 30 years ago with borrowed tools, and I have been retired for 10 years and haven't even put a foot in the building in over 3 years. Still own it, still get a paycheck because I took care of my friends/employees. That's why they are still there 20 years later, and believe me, they get more than just a paycheck.
Ok so you say " he owns this company, and retired at 45, and is moaning about $12." If that is what you get out of this rant, you will be short on friends and money when you turn 65 waiting for the social security check in the mailbox you checked on your way home from work.

As long as your engine doesnt kick back real hard and slam the cam stopper or the starter you should be fine with a stock starter clutch for atleast 15K miles i would think..if you get kick back,,get a CDI from John,,he has the best ones!

Don't only blame geh as I also recommended Walmart to you. Interesting about Amazon. I've been Walmarting for my motorcycle and the scooter batteries for years - will check twice form now on, thanks to you. BTW - the warranty on cycle batteries is the biggest insult of all ( 3 months, as i recall). As for tvnacman. I KNOW his prices are a bit higher than supposedly 'competing' parts elsewhere. Knowing that, I will continue to buy from him for all except the very most commodity of parts. he is the best in the known universe on customer support - talk about taking care of "the clam". he sets a new standard. Plus - I'm not aware of any other place you can get these "advancing angle" CDIs - or, if they are advertised, if they are really what they say they are. GEH opened my eyes to the ocean of counterfeits out there (especially in variators). Lower price ends up being wasted money. My 2 cents.

I agree , and kickbacks usually only happen with a weak battery , so everyone keep those batteries up .

Kickbacks also happen with a full-charge battery and those bull-shirt "advanced racing CDIs". At least, they did with what I'm familiar with. The kickback is violent enough it HAS to be causing internal damage.

The funny thing is 10 years from now high fructose corn syrup will be good for you . just like saturated fats were suppose to be so bad for you , but recent studies show that they are not nearly as bad as what they thought . everyone switched to carbs in the 1990's and look at what the carbs have done. Now carbs are bad for you . they like to make claims without doing the work and showing the facts. But I do believe high fr corn syrup is bad.

First - of all there is no core charge and not every retailer requires or charges you one.
Second - Walmart does not make batteries and you can order them delivered and no tax and free shipping straight from the manufacturer. I actually upgraded the quality of the battery then the one suggested, and it was on sale and CHEAPER than the one the forum turned me on to. From Walmart online. It also comes with a 18 month full replacement warranty which is three times longer than the battery suggested.
Third - just to piss somebody off, rcg92130 you will obviously be one of those checking the mailbox for your social security check when you come home from work at 65 years old because you showed us all that you can't either finish reading an entire post of information, or you can't understand it.
Fourth - the administrator should chime in here somewhere, because I don't know about others but, I come to this forum for scooter information. I don't need or want to sift thru post after post of orange juice or calories or sugars or corn syrup or all the other worthless banter you people pass between each other in this and many other posts. I've seen posts being moved and that's what an administrators job is. To keep the posts current and relevant. Please do your job. I rather read questionable light cussing, which the administration is right on top of, then the worthless talk he lets thru.
I believe there is a section for non scooter related talk of several kinds that can be posted under other headings in this forum. Keep the ladies beauty salon banter to those areas. If your lonely and want to talk, I'm sure there are some lonely hearts forums that you can join. If you want to allow this to continue then please remove the "non scooter related" posts option in the forum menu. Why have it if you allow this worthless yapping to be posted under "Scooter Discussions", and why have it at all.
And frankly, if you can't back up what you say, kindly keep your mouth shut. I didn't retire at 45 by being and idiot and wasting time. AND as the great Ty Cobb said......" It ain't braggin if you can do it! "
