THREAD HIJACK WARNING (sorry, Lian) So ---- GEH ----- since my max RPMs are only about 7200 (even with 9gr sliders) --- I suppose I should get a non-OEM torque spring to drive the rev into a higher range ... right? They come in 1,000, 1,500, & 2,000 RPM versions. I get what that means but do not know which would be appropriate. Your opinion? You are right. I gave a 1000 and 1500 to a member on here. I have an old ncy 2000 that is still in good shape . I can send it to you if you want it , 100% free of charge. I'd go with a 1500 or a 2000 . stock is said to be 1000 . the 2000 sometimes needs broken in . meaning they will run the rpms up a little high at top end until broken in. The 2000 I can send you will probably do the job.

here are the pics I took when converting from drum to disc , you can see the lever under that squeezes the brake .

Thanks, GEH!
A question first (since I'm getting sick of mucking around with bikes - have the front engine cover off the Goldwing just to replace the stupid water pump, which started weeping).
With my trusty electric HF impact wrench I have taken off the nut holding the clutch on, but never went further so don't know how much it is to replace the torque spring. Is it a simple take off clutch, switch spring, put clutch back on, tighten nut .... or is there more to it than that?

I don't see a brake disk there at all.
Is that looking from the rear toward the front, top side up in the photo? Your photobucket pix don't show much about this.

Is it a simple take off clutch, switch spring, put clutch back on, tighten nut .... or is there more to it than that? Take clutch off , the bell will separate as I'm sure you know . next there is a big thin nut holding the clutch pad assembly and the compressed torque spring on . when taking this off be careful , because the compressed torque spring will throw the pad assembly off. Keep pressure applied so this doesn't happen. Next take spring off , put new one on and reassemble. Do u want me to send u the 2000 ?

geh3333 here I thought the koso you were riding on was the one you got from me . rcq92130 yes the pictures were the before pictures , from the rear forward . John The koso's I recently bought " at the beginning of last summer were the junk ones . they came from somewhere down south . I never bought any from you yet . but you measured yours for me when I posted about the ones I bought being a different cast . in the recent video I had one I bought about 3 years ago " not sure from who " it was a good cast but the guide rails were wore out from the broken v-slide guides. The bad cast in the video was bought from Georgia possibly and the guide rails also wore out because my v- slides also broke when using it . the koso I am using right now is the second bad cast I bought from the same place " I didn't notice the belt wasn't dropping all the way in the variator until after I fixed the v-slide problem or I would not have bought another one from them . so I'm ready for a good one , lol

Thinking ... ps: GEH - you are one generous dude and I'm happy to have met you here! I've acquired many extra parts over the yrs , some I have never used and some are used and I'll probably never use them again , so why sit on them ? I've given many parts away through out the past few yrs . it feels good to help others if possible.
