Aw, poo... a nice, sturdy truck, but... NO electric Gatling-gun, NO rocket-launcher, NO flame-throwers... Not even a measly water-cannon. Some 14-year-old "gangsta wannabe" will take that thing out with a Hello Kitty lunchbox full of C4 and ball-bearings... LOL!
C'mon now, THIS is 2015 AMERICA. Let's pull up our big-boy pants... A car in every garage, a chicken in every pot and an M-16 in every classroom... Give me a teacher well-versed in readin' writin' & 'rithmetic... and FULL-AUTO rock n' roll, played on a well-tuned assault-rifle and THEN, maybe, I'll feel like my kids just MIGHT be a little safer. Yup!
This is TODAY. June Cleaver is gone. Nasty kids' spit-wads have been replaced with hot lead. That "vehicle" is OK, but lets see some TEETH in the tiger. And let's see how anxious these brain-dead twerps with mom's target-rifle are to gun down their classmates, when they catch on that the teacher will make THEM the FIRST one to rate a body-bag.
Sound harsh? Ask the families of those gunned down in schools because NOBODY in the school had a weapon to shoot back with.

Just HOW bad does a cop have to be for you to not defend him? I simply will not mark the 99.999% good police officers as a gang of street thugs in extreme hyperbole because of the 0.001% that need disciplinary action. Most officers do rightly deserve our gratitude and respect.

Dude...you have the ratio reversed. It's like lawyers, politicians, and used-car salesmen: the % ruin it for the good ones.

Over the last 50 years, I've met and known a goodly number of police officers. Back in my youth, personal experience agreed with Rockynv... at least % were honest and the kind of guys and gals you could trust in time of need. Over the last 20 years or so, things have changed. Dedicated employees in every area of the workplace (NOT limited to law enforcement) have embraced a me-first, screw-you, "I'm all that on a stick" attitude. Those I've done business with during these decades have proven to be about % dishonest. You have to count your fingers after shaking hands on a deal today. Sadly, a LARGE segment of law-enforcement and law-makers have gone the same route. The last time I qualified for my CCL the instructor, who is an active police-officer himself cautioned us that over half of his fellow officers could not be trusted to fairly enforce the law, and conduct ourselves accordingly: Basically, have NO dealing with police unless ABSOLUTELY UNAVOIDABLE. Period. I'm a 68-year-old guy with a history so squeaky-clean that I carried a cosmic security-clearance in the military, and I'm definitely NOT a hot-head radical. No right-wing militia, no religious cult business... Just an old, honest, patriotic American citizen who obeys the law. But... Even though violent crime abounds around my neighborhood, I am more fearful of the police than the car-jackers and robbers. The bad guys in doo-rags I can "interact" with, the law being on my side. The bad guys wearing badges I cannot interact with, and can only hope the officer may be one of the minority who actually ARE on the right side of the law, and not on a power-trip at my expense. Or worse. I have several law-abiding neighbors who've had their cars stolen, homes invaded, been car-jacked, violated, armed-robbed, etc. and NEVER reported the crimes. They would rather remain victims than deal with police. They know that as the victim, they will usually be treated like a "perp". And the responding officer is apt to be kin to the assailant. THAT little "fluke" will get you killed in a New York minute. So, they just let the assailants run free, for fear of the police. I have utmost respect for the badge, and those who wear it honorably, but their numbers are FAR fewer in percentage than in years gone by. Just my personal observations. I'm ALL FOR honest policing, AND I realize that MANY jurisdictions have a majority of honest, sincere officers, but all too many police forces today have slipped into the same abyss common to general business practice, of doing "whatever" for the money and the power they have over the public. And once a police force slips into that hole, the really GOOD officers seek employment elsewhere, leaving THEIR numbers even fewer. Leo in Texas

Dude...you have the ratio reversed. It's like lawyers, politicians, and used-car salesmen: the % ruin it for the good ones. I know from personal experience that is not true as do most law abiding good citizens. You promote a misconception that will only misguide the unknowing into getting into trouble with the authorities. You really have to stop promoting this hot headed negativity against authority as it only leads to unnecessary grief that is so very easily avoided. I have experienced looking down the barrel of a police shotgun so its not like I am insulated from reality or just have a one sided view of things. I was not engaged in any unlawful activity and was just retrieving a vehicle stuck in the mud in the middle of the night in an area know for trouble while the owner was rushing his mother to the hospital but it did look suspicious and yes the officers did have probable cause to investigate. I did not run or mouth off I just politely stood still and answered the officers questions and we resolved the matter like gentlemen without further incident. I have also been present when others just kept mouthing off when an officer, who was responding to a complaint, was very kindly letting them go however they kept pushing things so far that the officer had no choice but to arrest them in order to restore order. No gang of thugs with guns in the troubled areas around Boston, Providence Rhode Island, NY NY area, Rural NY, Maryland, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Virginia, Florida, Rural Alabama, Rural Georgia, Carolina's, Pennsylvania, New Jersey or any other area where I have worked with the Residents, Prison Inmates or the Police. Listen to wisdom and you will rarely if ever have problems with the Police that can't be peacefully sorted out.

Jarlaxle, Hey don't forget auto mechanics. Honest runs pretty thin there too! LOL! Seriously. Rocky, in regards to people pushing it with the cops, I've seen it too. But there's usually a reason for their animosity. Cops abuse their authority and they ruin their own reputations. People get fed up, and when the opportunity presents itself, they spout off and usually they're just blowing off steam. Let's not forget that it takes TWO to tango. The cops who arrest those people for simply exercising their rights to free speech are the ones in the wrong in my humble opinion. Unless someone is physically violent or is threatening physical violence, the police have no cause to arrest. When someone is verbally venting, hey they have that RIGHT! Freedom of speech means freedom of speech. Not freedom of speech as long as you aren't insulting a cop. We all know that police get a pretty WIDE berth when it comes to stepping on people's rights. Cops need better training, and better constitutional education before being allowed to patrol the streets. Cheers! Dude...you have the ratio reversed. It's like lawyers, politicians, and used-car salesmen: the % ruin it for the good ones. I have also been present when others just kept mouthing off when an officer, who was responding to a complaint, was very kindly letting them go however they kept pushing things so far that the officer had no choice but to arrest them in order to restore order.
