I think what you are seeing is WHITE SMOKE to much fuel Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Clockwise. Actually do this Turn it clockwise until it stops then turn it counter clockwise 2 1/2 turns. Alleyoop Will do, gonna wait about a half hour I got sick from the fumes, I think you are right too much fuel and white smoke... Gotta keep my face out of the muffler next time...

Videos will appear as they finish processing (actually seems they are finishing now, youtube lied aboutupload time! lol)
The popping in these videos sounds like a sudden loss of volume in the recording because of the way the camera adjusts itself to sounds. If you listen closely with headphone or with bass up you may be able to hear more clearly.
Initial startup of the day, started recording a second right after starting up. Had little trouble starting, but started after 3 tries with electric starter with full battery:
Starting to adjust the fuel ratio, video cut short because was out of space on phone and did not realize till I was seeing fumes behind the scoot in the air and it was stalling out:
Adjusting idle after starting up, after stalling out, then adjusting fuel ratio screw and also showing smoke when revving:

Well that smoking to me in the video looks like it is blueish and if so it is oil and if so what could be causing the popping is the plug not firing consently due to being fouled. To verify start it up again and let it smoke and then shut it off and take the plug out and see what it looks like. Alleyoop

I will take a look at it though, it should at least tell us engine conditions. The one I pulled out of it when I installed the carb was black and damp and looked like it had chunks of something black on it.

The plug was black, sort of wet. The smoke did not go away when I adjusted the fuel mix back to 2 1/2 out.

Lain, Black sooty or Black oily maybe a pic of the plug so we can see it maybe others will see something that I am not seeing. But if black sooty then to much fuel, if black oily then you have a oil problem and you need to put in new rings. So after this look see I think it is popping due to the plug not firing all the time and it will pop. Alleyoop

If it is smoking all the time it is def the rings causing the smoke " also considering u have a new head " , and having that much oil in the there may be causing problems with ignition. You might kill two birds with one stone.

Who has an extra set of rings they can send this guy. He has said he can't afford more parts, but surely someone has an extra set.
Tossed mine out, unfortunately.
Lian - make SURE you de-glaze the jug bore before just sticking new rings in.

Did you have the cylinder off that motor,,if so did you clock the rings? If the cylinder was removed and then reinstalled with the same rings and with out honing he will have more oil leaking then before. Even if he clocked the rings they probably will not fall back into the same path as before .

I have a jug , piston and rings with less then 1000 miles on them " probably more like 700 miles . if we can get together , I can send them to someone who can hone the cylinder and maybe someone can buy a new set of rings then he'll be set. I'll post a pic .
