spray and work it , I wonder if the little bit of play is bearing play . Not bearing to shaft play .

It could be bearing play. I really couldn't tell. At least it's running fine for the moment. I'll know more on Monday

You might be able to open the cvt then the gear box and take the wheel with the axle from the gear box . I changed an axle in a reverse trike/buggie when I changed an engine . I don't remember how it came apart .

That idea was suggested to me by a local guy who is pretty knowledgeable on these. I am not familiar with how to do that, but it may end up being the best way to get this done.

The only problem with that is , you would have to pound the axle along with both inner bearings and oil seal out all together . I just recently replaced all the gear box bearings including the axle bearings and seals. Will they even go out that way ? I really don't think they do . take a look at the pic , see how wide the axle is ? Now imagine the outer part of the bearings .I don't don't think the bearings will come out this way. ep.yimg.com/ay/yhst-92821211804676/gy6-parts-store-12.jpg. I could be wrong I don't remember. If it does work you will need new seals .

I'd do my best to remove the swingarm even if you can get it off the other way .this way if you need new swingarm bearings u can remove it the normal way to replace them when they come in. I imagine if moisture rusted the bearings to the axle the bearings may not be in the best of shape.

I was thinking there were two just like in the swingarm.

My bet is the swing arm bearing is shot , if it is not how do you clean up the inner race anyway ? I know a guy that had a swing arm bearing problem , he replaced it his was a 250cc .

due to my work schedule, I still have not had a chance to try removing the swing arm again.
Looks like I need to try it next Monday.

Ditto on the PB-Blast. With all the pounding you would probably do well to replace the bearing in the swing arm and possibly the bearings on the shaft inside the gearbox. Sometimes if you grasp the swinga rm with your hand and gently tap the sides of the housing alternately top and bottom you will get things moving. A lot of little taps and fewer great big ones. If you approach it from inside the gear case - On a GY6 you need to remove circlip #10 to get the bearing off the shaft so that you can drive part #9 out the right hand side of the bike. Then you can see about putting the swing arm in a vise to try and drive the shaft out that way. www.partsforscooters.com/scooter-parts-diagrams/125cc-150cc-GY6-4-Stroke-Transmission_2If you open up the gear case you will need new shaft seals and a new gear case cover gasket.
