I've been trying to break from my swing arm so I could change the back tire. I've tried breaking it loose with tapping the axle with wood and a hammer, I've tried using a 2 jaw puller, and still nothing. Any suggestions? Photo

Try applying some heat on it so it expands some.

I don't have a torch. What else could I use to get enough heat? Would a blow-dryer create enough?

take off the nut and spacer lean the bike to the left and spray penetrating oil on the axle and swingarm bearing .Tap it with a light hammer . Take your time with it let it soak a day or so and keep applying the penetration oil . The inner race maybe rusted to the axle .

Thanks John. I'll try that. I"m also gonna run down and pick up a heat gun from HB before they close.
I really need to get this done asap, as I rely on this for my daily driver. Hopefully I can get it to break loose tonight, then have the tire changed in the morning.

Wow , I've never heard that one before . The inner bearing must be somehow stuck to the axle. Other then being rusted together I don't see how its stuck .

It's not letting loose for anything. Gotta keep trying. Stopping to eat something right now.

One other question. I see what looks like a snap ring. Is that simply to hold in the bearing, or do they sometimes use those to hold the swing arm in place?

What all did you have to take off on your swing arm?

Removed the exhaust, took off the bolts holding on the fender, the 3 bolts holding it to the engine/frame, and the shock. Removed the wheel bolt and washer. Swingarm is loose and wiggles a little bit, but just will not release

Swingarm is loose and wiggles a little bit, but just will not release Have you tried going at it from the other side of the scoot , maybe use a piece of wood " or something else" hold it against the back of the swing arm and hit it with a hammer " that is through the rim " . also are you 100% positive the swingarm isn't catching anywhere else?
