I had to space the address for ya. Those are perfect The space in the link its tricky when posting from the droid . John I just recently dumped my iPhone 4 for a Samsung galaxy mega 2 , and I have the same problem . even if I skip a space the address will still paste attached to the last word. Not a big deal I just have to remember to move it after I paste something or just edit the post .

Luckily I don't live in a big city or near any congested highways or roads so if I'm traveling around 55 - 60 I can get there in a little over 15 mins . if I ride all out I can get there in under 15 mins. And of course the same on the way home .

Well so much for 20 - 23 degrees . it was 12 degrees out and everything went pretty good except for my hands . they got to the point to where they hurt by the time I got to where I was going. I stopped at Walmart on the way home and picked up another set of gloves and they helped a lot. They still got cold but my hands never started to hurt . I looks as if heated gloves may be a necessity.

Usually its air leakage. I spray my Built Demons with boot waterproofing when air starts passing though the seems too badly. Keeping the fingers together on the grips also helps.

I use snow boarding pants , a few upper layers , full face the hat that only exposes your eyes and tucks under your collar . I have the gerbings jacket liner , gloves and insoles . If I could do it over I would have gotten the hybrid stuff not the straight 12v plug in . In general dress for the temp of the day , then cover with wind breakers/rain gear . Keep your torso warm and yo can make it . Someone told me if your torso is cool or cold it slows the circulation to your arms and legs . I have danced around the cold quite a bit . On the coldest days I have a one piece snow suite , a pair of sweat paints sweatshirt , heated jacket liner , heated gloves and insoles . I go outside start up the chinese 150 plug in only turn on the gloves let them get hot , then 1/4 power on the jacket liner . I have a 9 mile ride takes min 25 minutes without any congestion , 2 hwy's one bridge over the east river . I have done this 0 degrees . I use the chinese because I do not trust the vespa's charging system . Its a lot cheaper to repair the chinese then the vespa . John I def need to get something to cover my chin and neck area . that's one of the only places that does get very cold " almost hurts at times from being so cold " . my outer vest I wear zips up and covers my neck but it does nothing for the underneath of my chin . I'm gonna have to get some kinda mask that tucks in under my clothes. I could probably break down and buy a heated jacket and gloves but for now Ill see how long I can go without . I just ordered one of these. Can't beat the price. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006IL02OY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

12 degrees is really cold!! I am usually good till about 20 degrees and then my thighs get very cold. then again, I'm riding in a suit! I wear a winter coat, a Schampa neck gaiter and snowmobile gloves. I installed an oversized Givi windshield which keeps all breezes off my face and also has flares on the bottom by the hands which really help windchill.
I have a snowmobile jumpsuit that I can wear on non-workdays and I almost sweat in that even in the cold. I've read threads about people who ride with lap blankets, and some people have even used horse blankets (the part that goes around the horse's neck goes around your waist. )

My $.02 After having one I would not ride without a windshield again. blocks so much wind off of you and smooths out a lot of the turbulence. That said I do not mind riding in the cold at all but my fingers do. would like to find some gloves that are not so bulky but block the wind. What do you all use? any good battery heated gloves?

It's always my hands, chin, and upper neck area that are the coldest---even with 2 balaclavas or a heavy duty ski-mask, it still can suck. When it's really cold my face shield freezes over to the point to where I'll, sometimes, have to ride with it up--- even with the "anti-fog" lens I have, it'll still fog up. My lens isn't exactly air tight either.
I used to ride with thin pair of gloves underneath a bulkier pair. That really seemed to help.
I'm not doing much of the cold winter weather riding this year. Probably just to the store for some late night food or the gas station. I'm kind of over the riding in the colder months.
Hopefully all this "Polar Vortex" crap isn't like it was last year.

That was the same with me . my hands , chin and neck area. I got the chin and neck area taken care of with the mask that tucks in under my clothes . I have to breathe very lightly or exhale towards the bottom of the helmet to keep the visor from fogging up. I noticed if I cutoff all the airflow coming in through the bottom of the helmet it fogs up really easy . I keep the two visor vents and the mouth vent open also. My helmet still seems to keep my face pretty warm . I'll be taking out again sat morning , it looks as if it will be in the mid twenties.

Just got back from a 30 mile rd trip . the temp was 28 degrees and I had no problems . I think I'll be able to deal with the winter riding . the only thing I may purchase would be the heated gloves .

You would be amazed what a plastic trash bag under the front of your jacket tucked into your belt and covering up to your neck will do when your out and there is a sudden drop in temperature. Disposable latex gloves can become emergency glove liners in a pinch too.
You can substitute a free grocery bag or even a flyer/advertisement sheet from a store. I usually keep a garbage bag rolled up under the seat to cover the seat when parking outside anyway so I always have one available should the need arise.
