hey guys. I went out for a ride on the scoot and was pretty fun , i'm thinking "now how can I make it faster" lol I ride a tomos nitro 125cc scoot

Jim is right. Probably the most bang for the hop up buck but it will not make a tiger out of it. Want to go on a scoot gotta be a 2 t or a water cooled with EFi. My buck is on sell it a get a scoot built to go better. Get wahterver you need to get a better job and pay a bit more for mor scoot.

I agree with Jim, big bore kit go for a 170cc, I would add a cam, a ported and polished head and a performance variator and you will have a pretty quick scooter. Don't forget to put a bigger jet in the carb or you will burn the valves.

I am sure all the advertisers here would be able to sell you the parts.
The head you could try and port and polish yourself if you have some grinding tools.
Big bore kit cheap ones go about $50.00 higher quality figure $150 cam guessing another $50.00 Jet for the carb $2.00 each until you hit the right size. Variator you can find on ebay for the same $50.00 area. In the end figure $200.00 to $300.00

Here's a few things to remember before just telling someone to go buy a new scoot with larger displacement. It is NOT always true that moe displacement means a faster bike. My point: a 200cc scooter that weighs in at 350lbs vs. a 150cc that weighs in at 200lbs. assuming the ride is the same weight on both, they might only see a slight difference in top end on the 200. The real gain for them would be takeoff power though and no troubles with hilly terrain. So if you have for instance a 150, I'd BBK it out to 190 or 200cc (which I'm already considering with mine). That and some CVT tuning and yes, upjetting the carb to say a #135 main and a #38 pilot would be the best investment. Lighter bike, bigger displacement = Top end AND power

ok i have told this before i can make your scoot go faster than anything you can put up next to it here is my secret go to a milatary surplus store get a RPG strap it to the back of the bike find a place that has lots of room and fire the RPG holding on real tight
na just go for a BBK

I am cheap so and lazy so I traded for a bigger bike at a local dealer and got the speed and reliability that I needed. Since I went with a Aprilia I was able to get dealer financing at such a good rate that the gasoline savings from riding daily will be paying for the bike along with putting another few hundred dollars a month back in my pocket making the bike free. The Aprilia 250 has been reliable enough to replace my van so I have already come out thousands of dollars ahead of the payments and other costs of riding compared to driving in the past 14,000 plus miles riding this bike. The bike will do over mph and gets 70 to 80 mpg.

A larger displacement (more cc's) actually give you more takeoff power, and torque. It does something, but not so much to your max speed. If you would increase the gear ratio from motor to variator with an increase in CCs, then you'd see the largest speed improvement. Changing the rollers to lighter sliders, could get you better takeoff speed, but top speed is really determined by engine power output and gear ratio.
There are minor improvements you can do (like get better gasoline, get thinner engine and CVT oil, etc ...); however they will not amount to a lot of added top speed.

No way! I have a little old Tomos A3k! an '83 model! Sorta... tweaked it a lil though ;D dont see many Tomos's about Got a pic of your Tomos?
