I happen to know the NY Senator who introduced their helmet legislation. I would encourage everyone who rides to wear protective gear.However, what's more important to me is mine and your personal freedoms. I'd rather have the freedom to make that choice rather than having the government tell me they'll make it for me. |

Man I was thinking about Gary Busey. You beat me to it. We see the results on "Worlds Dumbest" every few weeks. Sorry about that  I just remembered his abrupt "about face" on a TV interview......After he got out of the hospital. |

On TV when they razz Gary Busey for his crazy rants he says "Give me a break, I got hit by a truck." Close enough......

On TV when they razz Gary Busey for his crazy rants he says "Give me a break, I got hit by a truck." Close enough...... He actually was in a single vehicle accident and hit his head on the curb. From the New York Times: Gary Busey, Actor, Is Badly Hurt in Crash AP Published: December 5, 1988 The actor Gary Busey suffered severe head injuries after losing control of his motorcycle today, the authorities said. Mr. Busey, 44 years old, of Malibu, underwent two hours of neurosurgery this evening, said Ron Wise, a spokesman for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Mr. Busey's work in the title role in the 1978 film ''The Buddy Holly Story'' earned him an Academy Award nomination. No other vehicles were involved in the crash here, 10 miles west of downtown Los Angeles, a police spokesman, Sgt. Gary McEwen, said. The police said he was not wearing a helmet when he fell off his motorcycle at 11:40 A.M. |
