i ordered a scooter from superiorpowersports.com, the MCO came the day after my scooter was delivered with the wrong VIN. i used their website to request a new MCO entering the correct VIN. i have no idea if they received that information though. i've tried emailing them, i've tired using online chat and i have tried calling and get no answer (yes all during business hours). this has been going on since friday, i'm seriously thinking of doing a chargeback. this scooter is worthless to me without the MCO.
frustrated... give me some advice please.

Yeah, money talks. If you useda credit card for the purchase you would be able to go to them and despute the charge. They would then take the money back and that would wakea person up at superior.

i knew going in that it would be a little more difficult buying online than locally but i had no idea i would have improper document problems. doing a little reading on another forum i found many that couldn't register their scooter because of false documents. a little communication would be nice but i guess that is asking for too much with superiorpowersports.com. i don't see how my bank could side with them unless they can produce the required documents to register. i don't even know if they are capable of producing a legitimate document at this point.

Without the correct MCO here the state patrol inspecting it won't give you the paper work the DMV needs to issue a title/reg. The vin has to be verified unless sold by a qualified dealer in CO. 1 reason I'm leery of buying a scoot online, any issues it's all over the phone/mail or net to cure it. PIA!

The problem your bank has vs Visa or MasterCard and American Express is that your bank may never have another transaction withthem and Superior could just refuse to send the money back. The credit card agencies are very likely to be part of transactions and can just hold the money that goes through them.
I doubt Superior has deliberately mess you up, hopefully theywill fix it for you.

I doubt Superior has deliberately mess you up, hopefully theywill fix it for you. i don't know, i would hope not. if they would have took the time to respond so i knew they were correcting the problem then i would have waited longer. i'm not a patient person, 4 days of being left in the dark was all i could handle. i still don't know anything new today.

This error can happen at a local dealer as well. I had a motorcycle a fed decades ago that I bought from a local dealer. I looked at the VIN after I had had it a few month and it didn't match the title VIN. I kept my mouth shut and plated it with the title I had. Kept my mouth shut when I sold it as well.
I suspect I could do it again today as long as I didn't have a loan on it and only bought liability insurance. I love Ohio for its BMV.

I agree. I don't believe SPS meant to screw up the MCO VIN. They have always been helpful to me but, it can take days to get them to reply or take action.
I thought I had lost my MCO and was in a panic. I called them, paid (Ugh) for a new one and two days later got another MCO in the mail. Then, as can be expected, I found the original.
While not the same as your predicament, they do seem to pull through albeit on the slow side. It's possible another recent scooter buyer has the same problem but with your VIN on their paperwork. SO, it may take some sorting on their part.
It might be helpful to take a close up picture of your VIN plate and email it to them. And, accept that it's going to take some time to get sorted.

I had the same problem with a different online vender two years ago. After a Visa chargeback and letters from my attorney it got sorted out, but it took 4 months.
It's not a question of if they meant to screw you it's the frustration of not being able to get any kind of response in a reasonable amount of time. They always seem to get the charging your account part correct.
Sure mistakes can happen at a brick and mortar dealer but the difference is you can walk into the dealership and they have no choice to but to acknowledge your presence. Not true in the Internet dealer world. It's my belief that they don't intend to screw you but don't really care if that's the way it works out. Just my opinion.
I got burned once and that was enough to send me to a local shop for the china scoot I could have bought online. I paid a couple of hundred more but I picked it up ready to roll and had people to complain to , face to face, if things went sour.
I hope things get worked out for you soon.
