Well this is enough to drive a person nuts. I never had this problem with Superior, and I not only got the MCO but the tags and registration through them as well. (of course being only about fifty miles away they must have known if things went south I could VISIT them! ) ......

(I course being only about fifty miles away they must have known if things went south I could VISIT them!) ...... worst part is i live in a gated community and can't park a vehicle without plates in the driveway. the garage is already over stuffed with the homeowners personal belongings. i had to get his permission to use the garage and move many of his things to get it in there. told him last week i would have it out of there yesterday when i got paid. now it seems this could go on for weeks and possibly months.

maybe time moves slower in california. said 20 minutes and it's been an hour. really wish i never made this purchase now.
edit: talked to another operator, took down the vin number and promised to take care of it. asked him if they could email or contact me to let me know the status on my new MCO just so i'm not left in the dark. said sure we can do that for you... so we shall see.

Good luck with that. BTW, could a neighbor put the scoot in their garage for the time being?

Sorry to hear of your issues. Sad to say I have seen this before, which there is not a reason that it should be. It all boils down to the customer service of the dealer you are working with. It is a very simple proceedure to get a corrected MCO. All the dealer has to do is contact the distributor and tell them they need a corrected MCO, takes less than 5 minutes of phone time. The bad thing is the MCO has to be sent by mail and that can take a few days, unless you want to pay for FED EX or some other form of over night mail. I have had it happen here, got an MCO with 1 digit wrong on the VIN. Called Ice Bear and got a corrected one at no charge, they even paid the over night Fed EX becuase the machine was already sold. Now for the legal side. They have to provide you with the correct paperwork (MCO, receipt, ect) in order for you to successfully obtain a title from your State. If they fail to do so, within a resonable amount of time, they must take the machine back, on their dime, and issue a complete refund. Keep in mind that, this is not going to happen instantly because of the mailing issue. However, if the dealer has any customer service at all, they will call or email you within 24 hours to tell you what is going on. Personally, my customer will know as soon as I know, usually within an hour. Your recourses if they fail to respond. You can contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles for information and assistance. You can contact the Department of Motor Vehicles in their State and file a complaint, this usually works the best because their dealer's license could be affected and/or a fine. You could contact the BBB, but in this case I don't think that will do much good because of their current rating and failure to respond to complaints www.bbb.org/sanjose/business-reviews/motorcycles-dealers/superior-powersports-in-city-of-industry-ca-100073843If none of that works, I am afraid your only recourse would be to get a lawyer.

I had the same problem with a different online vender two years ago. After a Visa chargeback and letters from my attorney it got sorted out, but it took 4 months. i don't think my bank is going to help me. i didn't use a credit card so i guess a chargeback isn't possible. they sent me a message saying they were done with the investigation and mailing me the information. i'm considering hiring an attorney. you said the whole process took 4 months, how long did you wait to hire an attorney? i'd hire an attorney tomorrow if the price was right and i was guaranteed to have the correct MCO and BILL OF SALE within 2 weeks. i know no one can guarantee that but i am curious how long it took after your attorney got involved.

I called my attorney after two weeks of chasing the distributer. He contacted the State AGs office along with the Letters to the offender. First they were to send the correct MCO but after another three weeks of waiting still had nothing.
Next round of letters got a response and info on how to return the scooter, return auth number, carrier info etc. it took the carrier about two weeks to contact me and another two to pick it up. About a week in transit and the distributer got in contact with my lawyer to let them know that they were no longer fighting the chargeback.
So in the end it was more like three months by the time I heard from visa letting me know the chargeback was final. At the time my attorney was also my business lawyer so he did it for very little money.
I wish you nothing but the best.
