he probably has a secret 60. my atm 50 had a 44mm piston which is what he probably has compared to your 39mm piston. install a bbk and you should keep up with him or possibly pass him.

i'm just guessing. you won't know forsure unless you remove your head and measure the piston. but i am fairly certain his atm50 has a 44mm piston if he can hit 43 mph.

Could be the (secret 63) or it could as easily be the weights in the variator.

Punch that thing out to with a 50mm piston and some scrappy gears. I weigh 250 and can hit 45 +/- depending on wind conditions.

From my understanding the carbs on these things are jetted extremely lean could this also be the issue? He has replaced his carb I have not yet.

Wouldn't hurt to turn the Air/Fuel mix 1/2 turn to counter-clockwise and see how it does. His very well could be jetted differently. I would try that frist because it's quick and you can always turn it right back.
And yes, most all china scoots are set lean as so to pass Cal. Emissions.

All the t3's I have rebuilt had 44mm pistons 63cc So I wounder if the jetting is the problem then. I'm gunna change carb with a better one and bigger jet and see how it goes.

I'm actually gunna try this first turning the a/f screw to see if it makes a difference

All the t3's I have rebuilt had 44mm pistons 63cc And I'd bet the bank Mr. Mills is right about your buddy's scooter, he's been around the block a few times. (no bad pun intended mills) [Smile]
