After a few upgrades I'm trying to decide which belt is better. I've seen good things about both. Which do you prefer and why?

I went with a Gates Power-Link...mostly, I wanted a brand I'd heard of. (My other option was a Chinese company I hadn't.) Tough to go wrong with Gates.

Go with the Gates.
Bando was in litigation with Gates and may have to turn over a good portion of their stock over to Gates in the settlement so this could become a moot point of discussion. Basically a Gates employee appears to have left Gates and started working for Bando bringing software from Gates to Bando with confidential data on how Gates belts were made.
Bando started to delete the data from their systems after their records were ordered by the courts but dodged that major bullet when a floppy was found in their possesion containing the Gates Data, etc. Bando then had to pay Gates legal costs involved in the search for the deleted data even though the data was eventually produced although only partially.
This went back and forth for some years.

Just went ahead and ordered the gates. And a few other parts. Dang I get excited when I know I have stuff on the way.

I've always used gates belts. They just work well and I change them often. Nothing worse then shreading one... they are a mess and of course it is not something easily changed on a 150 without an impact wrench.

Im not a fan of the vibration you get from these belts but its better than having one break i guess.

Both are excellent belts, but from my own personal experience Bando is the better belt.. When Fawkes was a stroker, I was breaking Gates Power Link belts, one about every three months.. The Bando belt never broke, as a matter of fact I still have it,
Also for some reason I'm guessing it has to do with belt width, as the Bando belt looks just a little bit wider than the gates and i would get about 2 or 3 mph faster speed with the Bando over the Gates.. But both are excellent belts, and for normal bbk's it both will work well...
Also finding a Genuine Bando belt can be difficult, I have read that Bando has many boot leg Chinese companies manufacturing fake belts and passing them off as a genuine Bando. I remember reading this on the old scootdawg website. So when I bought my Bando I got it from scrappy..
