Great price. Jim Don't forget JIM this is his side job, he does not have any overhead like a B&M shop has. He is just a scooter riding guy that likes to work on scoots and makes some drinking money on the side Alleyoop

Costs do add up when you have to maintain a warehouse, parts counter, sales staff, etc when you run a full service dealership.

If you used a credit card, file a dispute with the card issuer. You may not win (it's a he said-she said scenario) but it will be a pain in the arse for the company to respond. At least you will get that satisfaction. Tom

howdy, just a few comments and again for information only. i had the rear tire replaced yesterday. it was the city grip michelin. the charge was 130$ for the tire and 50$ for the r and r. now when the shipping package was opened the packing and charge list fell out and i opened and read it. the charge to the dealer was 66$ plus the shipping for the four tires shipped divided by four. that makes very close to 100% mark-up. BUT the r and r was reduced from their standard , so i think the total i paid was probably about the same as rapid jim would have charged. i'm not complaining. they did not however, test ride afterward. they charged me at the same time 149$ for a service which included filter, oil, and spark plug. the mechanic did not have a service guide and did not check the items specified in the checklist from my owners manual. i had to specifically ask to have the air filter checked which is a cleanable and re-oil item. he did not even clean or re-oil, just removed and replaced and that only because i asked and stood there to watch.. he did not check the belt compartment filter or front tire pressure or coolant, or steering or throttle or lights or----------that seems not quite right. again my comment started out only about the tires , so pardon the other ramblings. the first time i hit the brakes there was no pressure to the front ones till i re-activate the lever a couple times. so a test ride would have been a good idea. he had examined a noise i told him i had at the front wheel and had pried the pads away from the disk. he also did not even check the brake fluid. all-in-all not satisfactory for 149$!!
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Dang it, millsc, why can't you be closer to the metro?
ken, how do you tell if they test-drove it or not? I mean, besides that the brakes weren't right. But other than something being wrong how would you know? -When I had my spring tune-up, I found out 'cause the guy said the mech was impressed with my scoot's pick-up'n'go. Hit something over the posted 35 in I think 4-tenths of a mile. Otherwise I wouldn't have thought about it. But now that I know, it IS a good feeling knowing they'll test drive after working on their bikes.

You do have to be carefull which mechanic you allow inside your circle of trust. You unfortunately have to ask them who test road the bike after the repairs were done to help ensure they fufilled their obligation to verify that they did the job right.

Even a good shop can make a mess of it once and a while. Especially if you have a problem child bike.
