It's best to just turn the cheek, feel sorry for them, then forget about it. People like that don't think before they speak or do things, they are looking for trouble, and you want to avoid those types. Letting people go who cause trouble is what's WRONG with society. Not trying to start a debate. Your your own man/woman and you can think and decide for yourself and no one including me is going to tell you what to do. Going off topic a little, but there were three guys drinking while I was taking a leak in the mens room, and overheard one of them talking about jacking me, while his other friends said no, and that he was crazy. I waited till they left, but when I walked out, the guy who was talking about me said wassup, I didn't say anything and just gave him the dirtiest look. He came up to me with a beer bottle and whacked it over my head. His other two friends then came and got him and held him back. As I started walking away, one of them walked near me and told me to just go home. I got in my car and literally did a 360 when they let him go and he started banging at my window. At this point I was angry as , but couldn't take on three of them. So I sat in my seat with my hands on the wheel just stopped, but then, he held his arms in the air and said "what?" I floored it over the curb and onto the grass and chased his with my car. All 3 of them kept dodging and helping each other dodge, and throughout all the confusion I didn't turn my lights on and ended up crashing into a tree face first into my steering wheel. The guy starting laughing that I crashed then I went after him again, and ended up leaving and driving myself to a hospital. My whole front end was trashed with frame damage, and while driving it home after I left the hospital the hood flew up and smashed in my windows. I had to get my head stapled and I had a fracture in my jaw. I ended up getting into 3-4 drinking fights after that which caused the fracture to mess up the symmetry of my face. I use to have a real bad anger problem and this is just one of those moments. Later on in the day a friend of mine told me that I was stupid and I should have just left, but instead I made it worse. Besides my family who told me I had an anger problem, I never thought that one of my friends would tell me also. This was in my mid-20's and Im now in my early 30's. Im not a kid anymore, and I have a kid in another country from traveling (trying to bring him here, but that's another story. What happened to me wasn't because I said something or nothing, it was because the guy was either drunk or all twacked out, but the consequences can be related to the OP's situation had the situation played out differently.
A few months ago I was at the swap meet and there was a guy just looking at something and I saw something I wanted to look at, so I went to try and grab it, and he extended his arm and told me to wait cause he was looking. All I wanted to do was kick him straight in the head and after wards while walking away just sick thoughts running through my mind about stabbing him in the face. This one other time at my apartment complex, my roomate and I were walking up to the elevator and some dude just speeds up in his car right in front of us and stops. We both looked at him like we wanted to f him up, and my roomate said let's just go, and I told him what the f are you talking about. He just said that it wasnt worth it. That guy was the boyfriend of another tenant in the building coming to pick her up. Next day someone told us he got aressted that night for starting a fight with someone. Walking away bruises my ego a lot, but its just not worth the consequences that can happen, and you really never do know what will happen. There's a difference between letting someone go, defending yourself, and all that, but in the end if theres something we can all agree on that's wrong with society, i would think it would be violence, and you can't be against confrontation and violence, and yet condone or be a part of it.

I haven't been on the receiving end when driving. I have encountered a gal on a VERY SMALL 50cc that was tying up traffic during rush hour on a 45-mph street. And yes, I thought she needed to find less-crowded streets to drive on, along with possibly more colorful phrases.
That was rude of her, because she was inhibiting traffic.
But it would've been just as rude of me to act on my thoughts and yell at her when all she did wrong was use bad bad judgement.
As for soldier's situation, I think I would've walked away as soon as the guy spoke to me, and gone to the barkeeper or some other employee and told them what the guy said and that I felt threatened. But then, I'm a girl and I don't have the testosterone you guys are blessed with, nor the ego-thing society has blessed guys with. It's perfectly okay in pretty much anyone's opinion for me to run away and get help; sadly, not so much for you guys. But soldier, you keep walking away when it's not a defending yourself situation and never mind those strangers' opinions.

I don't let cars get close enough to talk to me either I speed up to make distance or slow down. I've had cars look like they wanted to say something but I put the throttle down and leave them behind. Was riding with my step son he was on his 50 and a lady yelled at him to get off the road and passed him I ran her down passed her and told her to get off the road her mouth was gapped open when she couldn't stop me from passing her in her junker car

Kat, much of society don't like snitches. psycho, I don't agree that it's snitching to find someone working at the place and tell them about someone who's threatened you. To me, that's protecting myself. Then again, me taking on three guys isn't going to end pretty for me. And like I've posted elsewhere, I don't really want to get either beat on or raped. Probably a girl thing. >'Kat

Was riding the old ETon (2004) the mile down to the convienence store the other day. Had a lady in a Lexus get pretty close (limit in this section is 35 and I was running wot almost 40) so I slowed and swung over to a turn out to let her pass.....she didn't. So I sped up and kept trucking. Turned in to the store and she followed me in, pulled up with window down and told me my scooter was polluting (its a two stroke) and needs to be fixed. Thank you Mam.

This is what one of my MSF coaches told me: "Don't let a driver who you will most likely never see again, if you let it go, push you into a situation that you will be regretting and potentially be paying the consequences of for the rest of your life."
Was told the same thing when I took the refresher course for driving large RV's.

Id bet I pollute more in 100 miles.om my Qlinj than I did in the ,000+ I put on my Magnum.

I have just over 300 km on my new scooter... in that time I have had two incidents already with other drivers:
The first one was a woman who felt the need to pass me up a blind hill over a double yellow line (No Pass Zone) and I was doing better than the 25mph speed limit. When I reached the red light where she was stopped a few cars back from the right turn she was waiting to make I put my scooter right in front of her car so she could wait a lil bit. As the light turned green I moved up, she pulled beside me and says "that $h&t can get ya killed" I said so can passing someone up a blind over a double yellow moron, piss off!!
The second was a Sheriff Deputy. I am in downtown Concord, NC in a 20mph zone on a two lane road with no passing. I am easily doing 25mph and this guy passes me in the SAME LANE!! He had no blue lights on, slowed back down after he passed me and just kept driving. He stopped for the next red light and I was pretty angry. I pulled up to his window, tapped on it and he rolled it down. I said "What is your problem?" All he could say was excuse me? I said you passed me in the same lane back there in a no passing area, are you trying to kill someone??? He said that he gave me room and I said I don't care, you passed me in the same lane, what if I had turned left? You would have planted me. I told him to do me a favor and if he see's me on the road to keep his patrol car the away from me, I am not trying to get run over by someone who is supposed to protect and serve. I left. That was it.

Nah, he knew he was in the wrong. I see cops all the time breaking traffic laws and never see any of them getting pulled over.
