Hello everyone,
I have been riding a 1985 Honda Elite 150 Deluxe for about a month now. I just changed the oil last friday, and noticed it smokes a great deal. I checked the oil, and it was VERY low. I drained and refilled it, which showed that I had lost +/- 300ml of oil in 2 days (around 20 miles of riding).
I am not sure how the oil is getting into the chamber. Before I take it to a Honda cycle garage, what (besides rings) could cause the oil to burn so quickly?
Thank you in advance!

The valves... Have you checked to make sure one isn't being held open?

howdy, what ever it is, it is bad news. i would suggest it may have had a vacuum leak and burned a hole in the piston. you should pull the plug and see whether the oil is in the combustion chamber.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

If there was a hole in the piston it would not run no compression. Alleyoop

You can get a compression gauge kit at Harbor Freight for 20 dollars . Being a 1985 most likely the rings are worn . A burned up exhaust valve will also make it smoke .

Thank you all for the responses! scootnwinn, I haven't checked the valves yet. I dropped it off at a local Honda garage today to get them to at least tell me what the culprit is. I priced a few top end replacement kits, and I know someone who can install it properly at a much lower cost.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a reputable source for piston/rings/cylinder replacements? Found a few, but I'd love to get everyone's expertise!

howdy, i don't wanna argue the point, but i didn't mean a 3 inch hole. could be just a broken ring etc. the point is , pulling the plug is the first move---

With an older machine you can also have leaking valve stem seals and worn valve guides. If you do the top end, replace these as well and get a good 3 angle valve job while the head is loose.

The valves... Have you checked to make sure one isn't being held open? I had that problem with my Heinkel. It backfired and used oil. It needed new rings and a rebore after 20,000 miles.

Check valve clearances....
Does it smoke on start up then clear up? If it does, then it's valve guides... in any event, being that old, its probably time for a whole top end and head rebuild.
