Hey Guys new to the thread. New to scooters.
Quick Question. TaoTao 50cc
Changed: CDI to High Proformance & No Rev limit New Hot Ignition Coil New Hot burning Spark Plug Bigger Main Jet New Air filter and lost Air Box New Glass pack exhaust.
Still Slow If not slightly less proformance. and on top of that even after changing CDI still limited to 7000 RPM's
Why? Fix?

Still Slow If not slightly less proformance. and on top of that even after changing CDI still limited to 7000 RPM's Why? Fix? 1. CDI 2.Coil 3. Plug Those three will just get you better starting and burn the gas better for more mpg--nothing for performance wise. 1. Bigger main jet-- WHAT SIZE you may have gone to big- 2. Free Flow Air Filter --could be to much air 3. Free Flow Exhaust Those three if tuned right may give you a little but not much. To get any real power you will need a BIG BORE KIT to get the displacement up for more power. Alleyoop

I've tried all the mods on the 50cc's the air upgrades like open air filter and especially the exhaust on stock scooters make the scooter slower, you need more power to get use out of the more airflow the small piston doesn't benefit from the air mods. More air more gas small piston= slower

I didn't go to big it was a # jet There was no washer on Variator Exhaust was changed I just don't know baffles the out of me.... As previously stated to much air to much fuel small piston= slower sounds about right thats the only thing i could think of.... it goes 35 I don't want to do 70mph thats why i havent done a big bore kit. 40 45mph would be nice though to keep up with my local traffic. I figured I could get that out of the little motor....

Well you got it to 35mph that is par for the course from your current mods. Most stock 50s do 30 or maybe 32 if your lucky. Alleyoop

A big bore kit and the mods you currently have would most likely get you what you want

My TaoTao ATMa came with 8g rollers and I went down to 5g since Im 200 lbs and it is very hilly here . Mine was a " secret 63cc " instead of 49cc . Now a 49cc is only 3 cubic inches of displacement so it is very limited on what it can do . Tuning the CVT with lighter weights is like a 12 or more speed bicycle is easier to pedal and you can go faster than a single speed bicycle . A BBK will have more power , faster take off and uphill , but may have the same top end , but not have to work as hard to maintain it . Does it takeoff fast ? A buddies Honda Elite ( a 2T ) has fast takeoff like a forklift up to 20MPH then acceleration slows down and tops at 35MPH . It is stock and been wrecked several times . You may later on opt to go up 1 tooth in the gears in order to have a taller final drive . Too tall will kill takeoff and uphill . Taller gears you would want even lighter rollers or sliders . The airbox protects against rain and has a mild restriction which helps the engine create vacuum as a restricted exhaust has back pressure . If you want to whistle with your lips you draw them up as you can not whistle with your mouth open wide . Similar effect on a small engine so air filter and exhaust on a 50 may hurt performance but they help with a BBK ( big bore kit , a piston kit larger than the 50cc ) . I put on a BBK 40mm to a 47mm and wow it had more power but with the unrestricted racing pipe take off was less since not as much back pressure as the stock pipe but midrange and top end were much better . Try a CVT tuning kit like this one with several weights to test out enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/14177743/prima-roller-weight-kit-16-x-13 you can mix em up like 3 4gs and 3 5gs to equal 4.5gs . These weights are for tuning and are soft so not for long term use . Cheaper than buying several weights sets with a per kit pricing . You can get a main jet kit with several sizes to test out like this one enviromoto.ecrater.com/p/14177743/prima-roller-weight-kit-16-x-13 . You should want an unsealed carb so you can adjust the air/fuel screw , have a clip on the needle to adjust its position . There is at least 4 types so compare yours with these www.partsforscooters.com/Street-Scooter-Carburetors-and-Parts
