howdy, as long as the battery is 12 volts, it won't hurt anything. the physical size and placement of the terminals will be the critical things for a replacement battery. the higher cranking amps though will allow the voltage to stay higher while the starter is cranking which will prolong the life of the starter and other components.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Its nice if the batt actually fits in the batt compartment my 150. Uses a 9BS , the person i bought it from over 2 yrs ago was using a riding mower battery and had to mount it in the seat compartment. The first thing i did was buy the right size battery.

Fitting the battery usually becomes a problem, the more amps you go up.

Yeh th more amps the biggrt the battery , usually. The funnu thing is that my 9BS battery is mpre expensive then most 12 amp h batteries.

Well car batteries are measured in CCAs and I would get a battery that was higher rated than suggested by the manufacturer to be safe in the event of a loss of some power . Scooters only use just a few amps so providing it is the same size physically and will fit in the battery box and lid yes a stronger battery is a great idea .
These small batteries most under 10 amps will get weak or even die ( more so in the winter ) if the scooter is stored and not ran or have a trickle charger around 1/2 amp hooked up to it . My 2T has sat for two months since it has rained more this year than it ever has ( my 2T has a Uni so no rain rides ) and I got it out yesterday and today with it starting up instantly . I think Larry installed a stronger battery since he installed a hot rod engine that required more power to start it up than the stock engine . I have read where some have a secondary battery to power a car stereo that they installed on their scooter

Thats correct these smaller amp batteries can be a pain to maintain , if you do not use a tricklecharger over the winger months 3 month to 4 month period the batyery is usually garbage the next season. Last yr i waitex about 1.5 months into the winter to hookup the trickle charger and my 3 month old battery didnt make it to the next season.
