Will a 150 GY6 work without a cooling fan? Engine is completly out in the wind. No stop and go stuff or city riding.

If it does not have a shroud around it and air can blow around it I would think it would be Ok I would jet it a little rich to help cool it.

I'd just not ride WOT. Most of the time, when the throttle is used less than 75%, there's less heat generation. It also depends on your environment. If you'd live in 70 degrees weather or colder, you probably will do better than if you'd live in 80+ degrees weather.

I would keep shrouds and fan on. A buddy took his ruckus swap around the block with no shrouds and it heat seized.

I would run the fan and shrouds unless you are using it for single runs at a drag strip or like prodigit said, live in really cool weather. Hear in Florida I have been starting my scooter and taking it for short runs to test things , very short drives, and then engine always seems to smell funny after and will run odd after about 5-8 minutes.

Dirt bikes don't need fans. Maybe diff piston clearance?

Some dirtbikes are air cooled but they are designed to be air cooled with more oil, and different tolerances. Not to mention most air cooled dirtbikes are not going to be held wide open most of the time like a common scooter.

Remember the old honda motors on the ATC 70,125,150 ect...the top ends where very similar to a gy6 and they where out in the open no fan or shroud,,as long as you have a good opening in the front so air can flow over the head and cooling fins to dissipate heat,,you will be fine Im sure. But I wouldn't do it myself for long...
