no need to be bitter, some have more tack then others and we all express our opinions in different ways, don't take things personal from someone you have never personally met, just take the advice and either try it or don't

i agree but i guess it just doesn't affect me, alot of us build bad azz scoots and love to share the experience, i decided to keep my modded 50 and get a motorcycle for highway use since i can plate it. Even though i would like to mod a 150cc to see what it can do which i still may do scooter elements sells a 60mm which can be installed without boring the case and it intrigues me

Cheesh... C'mon guys and gals! ;D I must be one of the original members of the "Alleyoop fan club"... My scoot might not be running today without Alleyoop's advice. Maybe he "tells it like it is" but I don't get offended at that. I only wish our politically-correct government types would be as up-front. These sites are difficult to keep friendly as it is, so how 'bout we all bury the hatchet (Please... NOT in someone's back... LOL!) and be glad for the good advice, and, if something sounds wrong to us, just forget about it. I don't think ANYONE here intentionally insults others. We may be a little rough around the edges, but beneath the knuckle-dragging Neanderthal exterior beats hearts of gold in us old codgers. Really. Yup. Leo (keepin' it friendly) in Texas

Uhm, I'll admit it's late and I'm tired, but I didn't see anywhere in the other thread where alley called anyone a liar. He does come off a bit harsh but I think that's just him. He doesn't take any guff. And he calls a spade a spade, when that's what it looks like to him.
But then I rarely read the "please help" threads, since I'm worse than useless with any mechanical anything. So I don't see many of alley's posts.
>'Kat, thinking this is mostly a roosters problem....

Sat There geh3333. If your are having a problem with any of the members on this forum.then maybe you would be better off on another sight. We really don't need that kind of dissention here . Think about it OK? We are a nice friendly group here and would like to stay that way !!!

I've had very little problems with alleyoop. I think this forum has done well with him being a mod. There are others I'm glad aren't a mod, that ARE making fun of other people. At least Alleyoop sticks to the topic, instead of attacking individuals. Can't remember him doing that (or at least not often)

yes he does mean to be offensive and im right at home here. and even if it not that often that someon clearly offends someone its still to often amd wrong. ther is a difference between calling it like it is and implyimg ima lier i guess calling it like it is in this case is very offensive and many listen to what he has to say . so again him implying im lying could make others taks that like its true so yes its offensive and must be confronted .amd he even admitts he callled me a lier. im sure someone one her does that to anyone else they would confront it. an they should. its was said that thos is a freindly forum so lets npt just dismiss his remarks because he hasnt done it to you . no matter what its wrong ,ignorant and disrespectful ! i know many dont dlike that im standing upfor myself but thays what happends when others are disrespectfull .

Ah, the highly colorful grizzled characters of the previous generation. Hardened by years of worldly experience. Whether they be opinionated, arrogant, or just plain ornery, you're not going to make a dent in their day. So accept them for who they are. Forgive them for their lack of social grace and learn the lessons they can teach while you still have the opportunity. You're gonna miss them when they're gone.
RIP: Louie Cramer, Max Cohen, and Jim Ellison.
Scooters are supposed to be fun. Let's try to keep it that way.

geh, at least you weren't told outright that you're stupid and needed to leave "his" thread. Oil guy, whoever that was that made SD ugly for a while, he told me that in black and light. Then refused to apologise and denied writing it even after I posted the quote from his own post. And another guy on SD told me when I posted a different opinion than his, that I wasn't just wrong but completely wrong. It was a personal opinion type question, not something like a mechanical issue that's definitely got a right and a wrong. Something like "Do you think helmets are good?" I posted what I thought and guy posted I was wrong and pretty much that I was stupid ignorant blonde know-nothing and why was I replying against those who knew better? I did get a bit upset and posted in the relevant thread what they'd written that was hurtful. And they each pretty much told me screw it. So I just ignored their posts after that. Avatars make it real easy to see who to skip. mill's right, it's pretty pointless to get feelings hurt and all upset by people on the web. So you're all bent 'cause someone posted your advice was wrong for that situation. So how does you feeling mad affect the other guy? Not at all, that's how. He's not there dealing with you, he's maybe in Timbuktu somewhere. Point out on the thread containing the offending post how what was written was hurtful. Show with diplomacy not anger why it was wrong/hurtful/offensive. If the guy doesn't agree or continues, then ignore him after that. Harbouring hurt/angry feelings just ends up hurting YOU. Okay, psychology class over. Stepping off the now. >'Kat
