i couldnt close off th e other thread . i apologize to the others i hate bringing this up but ive been through more than most in the past 4yrs . im 34 i have 2 little girls one 7 and yhe other 4 . the 4 yr old " victoria" has had 4 open heart surgeries since she was born and yes it eats at you to not no how long she will be around. an i guess the 3 brain surgeries my gf of 10 yrs has gone through dosent help either. anyway yes it does get to me to be called a liar and i will let it go. Victoria is the one in my pic , she has hypoplastic left heart syndrome and there is about a 100% chance shell hav to have a transplant at some point .anyway have a good one . thanks

Thanks everyone, was finally able to get belt on after taking faceplate off variator and with extra stronger hands....Question though my scooter now doesn't seem like it has the take off it once did and the rpm's seem to run higher to get desired speed out of it..I could be worng but seems like when I would get scooter up to 50 to 55 per my scooter speedometer reading the rpms would run somewhere around 6000, now I am seeing around 7000 to 7500...What could cause this??

Maybe your new belt is a little shorter and wont ride up as high as your old belt causing you to stay in a lower gear,,did you change to lighter weights,,that will cause a higher rpm,,those rpms you state sound ok to me,,I see around 7k at 50 mph.
Sorry to hear about your kid and GF geh3333,,I'll keep them in my prayers.

well as i went back and read im gonna say its not a new belt so it sounds as if your belt was ridding higher on the old variator or the belt is slipping a bit . i would buy a new belt and see how it runs. or you can go with higher variator weights. this usually happens as the belt wears . i just had to order a new belt because my belt wouldnt climb as far upthe variator caisingthe rpms to shoot up . i countered ot woth heavier weights but i lost takeoff and top end torque.

Ok I am not to bright on the roller weights...the belt wasn't really wore much between to 20 mm and 19 mm, new belt that I had a scooter mech put on 2.5 months ago..I was thinking things over and seemed my rpm ran between 5 and 6000 rpm at 50 to 55... now running up to dern near 8000 rpm...Also after taking it for a good run today without a doubt I have lost some gas mileage...I could drive 80 miles and be 2 notches from empty today 75 miles and right on empty..checked again on way home from full stopped at 49 miles put in .945 of a gallon...yeh something not rite...

Ok Heavier weights, like how heavy? Will it also bring my gas mileage back up?? I am not even sure of the size weights that are in the variator now...I bought it on ebay and have since written to the seller asking him if he knew what size rollers come with the variator...

[replyingto=oldscoot50]oldscoot50[/replyingto]I had to get myself a cheap gram scale from ebay to weigh mine,,works great,,go 1 gram lower or get the same weight sliders,,i love my 13g sliders,,real good for cruising,,my rpm tops out at 6100 out of the box,,then stays there all the way up to 45 mph then it climbs some from there,,but when i back off throttle it cruises sweet,,I put 1 gram lower rollers in and it would come out of the hole at 7k and climb to 8k after 45 mph,,alot of guys like to tack up there but I noticed no difference in performance taching less,,Im sure my tach is off,,its a factory tach.
